I've heard great things about Gmod, but I was wondering if it is really worth the price of both it and CSS, seeing as how you need CSS to play most mods. I just don't know if I wanna spend all that cash just for one mod.

Yeah I know. It contains an almost infinite amount of submods, such as Trouble in Terrorist Town and whatnot, I'm just not sure if it's worth $25, is all

There are lots of different gamemodes. So there isnt always full server at hand, when you wanna play some less popular gamemode. But there are always lots of things to do. My advice is (because i am a cheap-ass student), go finish Portal 2, win Dredmor and Medieval II. In the meantime, there will be sale on CSS or Gmod and it will be much less expensive. ;)

He is right. Also, go to steamtrades or something, i'm sure you can get it for 1 or 2 TF2 keys or ~$4 from a trader.
I think if you do a bit of research you might find out how to download the CS:S textures for free, I thought I read about it somewhere but I'm not sure.

That said, if you're looking for a fun free game, try these with friends: War Thunder, Warframe, The Hidden, DOTA 2, LoL, Path of Exile, TF2 (I'm sure you've probably already tried that), Planetside 2, World of Tanks, Tribes: Ascend, and many others.

unless you have bunch of friends who are experienced in game dont buy it, al public servers are just people shooting each other and yelling to microfone

I'm pretty sure you can get the CSS files on the workshop. I'd wait for a sale if I were you though.
