So glad that this was one of the kickstarters I passed on.

Mayhaps not. Though it would be surprising if the game got finished. I'm not really interested in this kind of thing anyways.

One of the reasons I don't like early access games/idea.

"You should be aware that some teams will be unable to 'finish' their game. So you should only buy an Early Access game if you are excited about playing it in its current state."

I know. That's exactly why I think it sucks. I would never play an unfinished game.

I'm still disappointed in Starbound. Even worse, I didn't even want it. My brother bought it for me and was really hyped about it.

At least they haven't abandoned the game, and are actively working on it. I had fun with it, not a lot, but enough to get my $15 worth. I've made worse purchases! :D

Are you talking about Starbound, or this game? I didn't get this game but from what I've read so far, everyone's pretty convinced that 'Jig' has abandoned it and isn't communicating with the other devs and such.

Meh, EA(Early Access, I just figured it out a few minutes ago, derp) games are always an 'odds are against you' dice roll.

I was talking about Starbound, sorry for the confusion. :P

After doing a little more research I see that there were a lot of promises not kept. I only checked the store page, and saw an update on August 27th, so at least they ARE still working on it, if incredibly slowly.

But yes, Early Access games are risky, unless you trust the devs.

Starbound hasn't changed much since launch. Even though they're still supposedly working on it, it still feels like at any time they'll say they quit or just vanish until it's time to beg for money for a new project.

My impression from what I have read, is the Starbound devs took all the money they have made and used it to buy top billing banner on he Steam homepage multiple times to generate further revenue, but never did much to improve the game itself.

Most of the stuff in the game that I remember from when I last played were aesthetics, different furniture items for the, what, 6 or so races? It's all padding.

Not to my knowledge. I guess I should check it out again.

Go to your steam library, right click on Starbound and press properties, go to beta's and press "Nightly". Beware those builds are highly unstable and they're most likely going to corrupt your save file. They're only for the people who want to see the development and people who want to bug report.

Starbound is still being developed by the developers and isn't abandoned. Honestly its one of the few EA games I dont regret buying it.

The game looked pretty awful even from the trailer it had. I love Dinosaurs, but just because a game has dinosaurs doesn't mean it will be good.

It's sadly usually the other way around...

You can't purchase any copies until they move to Unreal Engine 4?
