Hello everyone!!!
Today, I have a cakeday πŸ˜€So I decided to make a train.
Christmas and break in college are coming .I would like to watch some movies and series in this time.
I don't know which. I have my own list of the best movies and series. But I would like to know new movies and series.
Recently, when I watch a new movie/series, it seems boring to me compared to the films/series on my list.
Do You know great movies and series?

This is my list. (random order)

1 Good Will Hunting

2 Gran Torino

3 Dead Poets Society

4 A Perfect World

5 Birdman

6 Boyhood

7 Pulp Fiction

8 The Fault in Our Stars

9 Shutter Island

10 Twin Peaks(Only one serie xD I think, that better series don't exist)

Let's solve my problem and enjoy my train!

I have never seen about American Psycho.
"A wealthy New York investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman,
hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends
as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies. "
Short description from imdb sounds interesting.

Yeah, I'd probably consider it my favorite show for that very reason. It's can be incredibly funny (especially if you like animal puns) but it also gets way too real sometimes

Movie recommendations are all fine and good, but they don't really matter much, since you're only devoting 2 hours of your life to them....Just watch any movie. Even bad movies give you an experience and are short enough to not worry about.

But tv series. That's where you could lose a whole chunk of your life chasing the wrong stories.

So.

Comedy.
Parks and Rec. The 1st series is terrible. One of the worst TV shows of all time. Absolute junk. But then, Brandanowitz leaves, and it gets slightly better. Not because he leaves...he's a bit of a dick, sure, but it's just a coincidence that the show improves once he's gone. About half way into series 2, it starts to become something special and before you know it, you've rushed through all 7 series and you're crying that it's over.

Arrested Development. Shouldn't really need much introduction, but I feel if you go into it expecting something mainstream and obvious, it might disappoint. It's dry humour. There are jokes set up in episode one, that don't get their punchline until series 3! It's solid gold, funny on a hundred different levels and every time you rewatch it, you'll spot something new.

Blackadder. Again, series 1 should be skipped. But every other series is just phenomenal comedy writing with such sharp timing.

Psyche. I only watched this recently, as in just this year, and it's really good to have on and not have to pay attention to every single word and study it, like you do with Arrested Development. It's a nice easy going sitcom with a great premise.

Galavant A musical show, so if you don't like musicals, maybe skip this one. But it's so funny and the songs are so catchy.

Drama.
Veronica Mars. A bit teenager-y but wonderful characters make this private eye drama very watchable.

Just Tattoo of Us Technically a "reality" show rather than a drama, but it's soooooo stressful. The premise is, two friends go on the show, and they design each others tattoo, in secret. A real, permanent tattoo. That's put on them, without them seeing what it is. Sometimes it's a nice sentimental tattoo, other times, it's a long grudge being brought to the fore, deep-seated jealousy about how popular their friend is come out in brutal manner. It's legit gripping and I feel like such trash for watching it.

Stranger Things. Everyone loves it, and with such good reason. It's practically flawless and not as scary as the trailers make it look. My wife who hates even the merest sight of gore or jump scares absolutely adores this ( although it took me a whole year to convince her to watch it! )

Columbo. Old show, but I absolutly love it. It's my go-to to put on when I can't sleep ( which means my Trakt.tv listing it filled with it! ) Imagine a detective show, where you know who committed the murder. Where the first thing you see is the criminal plotting and then performing the murder. In some episodes, the cops don't show up until half an hour into it! But then you watch a cat and mouse chase, where you know the information and you're trying to mentally send it to Columbo, but he doesn't need your help....he pesters the truth out of the baddie, every time!

Hmmm :( You are right. Watching movies and series is an escape from real life. But change a life is very hard. I don't know how to beat this. Thank You for Your advice with long descriptions. I will see this series.
