  • password does not contain 9 but contains every other digit
  • password contains one 8
  • 3 digits appear more than once
  • only one pair of digits (e.g. 99456)
  • password starts with 11
  • third digit is smaller than 5
  • seventh digit is 8
  • last digit is larger than 5

Hints will be updated over time if there are not enough solvers. **
You can share other hints if you want or need help but as always - more hints usually means less chance to win.

Thank you for all the puzzle GAs you're making!
I gave up on this one right away when you posted it a few days ago. Today I decided to put some effort on it and to learn a bit about wordlisting and password cracking, it was kind of fun!
Have a bump!

for some reason, i cant get crunch to process these to together

only one pair of digits (e.g. 99456)
password starts with 11

it always crashes
and trying to add them later crash the editor :(
was a fun read though

unless you are using vim, you should never open wordlists in editor

i only used the editor to add the 11 because crunch refused to have both rules

last digit is larger than 5

is that greater than five or the 5 included?

i actually did it, with some elbow grease and hashcat

I think the given hint is wrong
According to the given hint

  • 3 digits appear more than once
  • only one pair of digits (e.g. 99456)
  • password starts with 11

So, 3 digits is 1

  • password is 12 characters long
  • password only contains numbers
  • password does not contain 9 but contains every other digit

So, I ignore other hint and make this password model
11123 45678 0?
What is ?

My English is not good, I use google translate to browse and reply to this content, If I misunderstand the author's hint, Then I'm very sorry, Thank you!

you understood wrong. "3 digits appear more than once" doesn't per se mean there's 3 of same digit. it means that 3 different digits appear more than once, like, 0101232, not like 11123
