I'd like to buy Dead Rising 2 from a Russian trader (game is not available in my country), but I'm not sure if it's region locked or not. Enhanced Steam says that it's region locked if I look on the Russian store page, but I can't find anything about it on Steamdb and the Dead Rising 2 Complete Pack (which is not an option for me since DR2: Off the Record can't even be installed in my country) is apparently not locked either since I've seen lots of people trade it on Steamtrades. I'm not very experienced with Steamdb though and there are so many subIDs for Dead Rising 2 that I don't know where to look exactly. Can anyone tell me whether a gift from the Russian store would activate on my German account? Thanks!

EDIT: And a small giveaway

i have a region restricted game on my account (OP Red River), but can't play it (gives me a GFWL Error -i have an account, i played AOE Online). I guess you might be able to play it anyways but im not sure.
EDIT: and yeah DR2 is locked here in Europe

"Notice: Purchases made in Russian Federation can only be added to your library if you are in..." says Dead Rising 2, don't know about the Complete Pack, since it doesn't says it...in other games says this thing even on special packs, but not in this complete pack, but who knows...

The games are changing to SteamWorks. Might be worth waiting until after that if you continue waiting for another sale. Then no GfWL enforced region locks.

I assume the gift is this sub and it doesn't say AllowCrossRegionTradingAndGifting No also there is no DE on PurchaseRestrictedCountries section unlike here. So you can activate the gift

But it has GFWL so it will possibly enforce region lock and you can't play it

Thanks for the replies, I'll wait until they remove GFWL then.
