Hi everyone
so, as all may know the steam backup system integrated in the system its naff, not working reliably or just plain not working -at- all
and the other option we all have is copying the folder inside steamapps for the game -and- its acf file possibly compressing it for storage, right? but this takes a lot of time and effort most are not willing to put up with
so, I've been having issues with my backups, game saves are not a problem due to game save manager, but the backup of the games themselves were failing for me due to me being a genius and forgetting to backup the acf files too
so, I talked to the game save manager team and they pointed me to this great lil jewel I bring you today
https://bitbucket.org/Du-z/steam-backup-tool/overview
its an open source project, I tested it and its -amazing- simply made my backup routine waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay simpler, I didn't know about this project and wanted to spread the word on it, this coupled with game save manager its perfect for anyone on steam
forgot to mention, this system allows you to restore from the backup, once you restore it automatically installs the game for you, so, it appears already installed and ready for first launch on steam with no extra work
and, you can even run a backup where it updates only the files in your backup list which have had an update since you took the backup
