Pre orders are allowed, if you have a copy of the pre order (such as a Steam purchased item). If you have to wait for the release date because you got it elsewhere, giving it when the giveaway ends is a problem (unless you let it run until the release date).

Thanks for letting me know. I'm purchasing it through Steam, but I just wasn't sure if it was allowed since the game won't activate until the day of release.

Hey everyone,
After doing a quick Google search and looking in the FAQ/Guidelines sticky thread, I couldn't seem to find an answer regarding setting up giveaways with a pre-ordered game. My questions are:
1.Is giving away a game on pre-order allowed?
2.If it is allowed, does it work like any other giveaway?
I'm sorry to ask such a dumb question, but I was just wanting to know the community's view on such things.
