I bought a couple of games today and the first one downloaded with the speed I normally get but when I try to download the second one i am getting 100-200 Kb/s. I usually get around 4.2 Mb/s so i was wondering if this is a steam related issue or if I need to contact my internet provider.

It's a given. more popular games slower downloads.

If you mean there is more games being downloaded then I was thinking the same thing. If you mean that if it's a popular game it isn't what I would call a popular game

I thought Steam used BitTorrent to help distribute files, so the more people downloading the game the faster it would be...I may be wrong though.

it really depends on what ur content server you normally are connected to has loaded, so while some games will dl fast others it will route traffic from another server for u to download. So for my self my isp has a content server but doesnt seem to have many games that arent valve or werent released in the past year, so my download speed varies depending on title
