The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.

Or just live

How is the kitty plan going?

I have 23 keys left, and i got choice till november, normally i would take each month, maybe i need to be more selective, i still got so many incomings and outgoing financially that i won't have a stable picture of it all.
I am not going to be totally immune to getting bundles either, but not as many as i used to (which was basically most bundles).

Kinda bad. :( I really wanted two (my mother said the white one, a friend said the red headed one which is stubborn like me) but now i am kinda confused which one she has in mind.
But since she is paying, shots, castration etc I can understand she just wants 1, but i am always like if i choose this i am thinking about the other (plus i am spoiled and used to get my ways anyway).
But i saw a litterbox that was 40 euro, that cleans itself a bit more automatically (i think handy because the germphobia thing), even if i just paid it myself, and then she went on like how i want everything deluxe, top of the bill, and how she was done with the whole thing. In which i replied if am losing the chance on a cat i would be done with her. :x So yeah not so great.

She had such moods on occasion, even with my sister, it can be over next week or be firm and longer while i got 3 weeks until a decision about the cats (and the owners kinda want it asap, today even, else they would find someone else). Or i just gonna swallow it all and say fine you deal with it all, and i will just accept whatever you do.
Then i get a surprise cat, i can always get myself another litterbox.

Now right of me lives a single lady around my age, i am kinda into spirituality and hoping things happen for a reason, but she has 2 cats, suppose i won a million i could have my own house but maybe i am here first to meet someone, maybe her, but maybe someone completely else, but suppose i meet someone with cats, and i get my moms 2 cats, i might eventually end up with 5-6 and offcourse they all have to get along too. But for the what ifs and suppose, it can't be a reason not to get a cat now.

Wait wait.. I missed the "kitty plan" (bad net etc etc). If I'm understanding this right you might get a kitty or maybe even 2? And what is the problem?
If you have the space, go for both as they are social animals (despite being pictured as loners), especially if they are around the same age. And no :P You don't need separate litter boxes, only food bowls tehehe

I am living in a small 1 bedroom (and living room) apartment, although from me they can have the whole balcony, i am behind my pc mostly anyway.
Financially (and also she thinks there isnt enough room) my mom wants me to get 1 cat, while i adore two, but i was still in a thinking process about it, but offcourse she had to send footage and then you fall in love. While if she didn't i could have said with more ease, maybe another time.
Because if pick one of them, i will always think about the other one, i even said let me just pay for it, also the litterbox. i have 3 weeks left to make a decision.

It's not about seperate litterboxes, i want one that is 40 euro that has a seperate tray or whatever, that they are easier to clean and even clean themselves a bit (with my germphobia would be absolutely handy) and it's also that germphobia thing that kinda holds me back if i should get a cat however on the other hand, i think it might also help me overcome it all.
But my mom went on how i want every superdeluxe, i was like let me just pay that litterbox then, but then she went like i am done with it all (and vice versa) with her it can be over next week or not for weeks, risking the complete loss of the chance of a cat, or i just swallow it and just let her do it all, let me surprise what kitten it has become etc and that i will still get my own special litterbox.

They are a nest of very young kittens and thus brothers/sisters.

However my mom also has 2 cats, and not young anymore (and had a TIA) and my sister has no room for them, and i don't want them to end up in an asylum so it's realistic i will eventually get 2 more cats, that would make 3-4, and suppose i get into a relationship where there are also cats, it's gonna be much.
Although then you would eventually move to a bit bigger place i hope (housing market is tough here).

I read most of it and found the clip :P Indeed they are cute af xD

I grew up with cats, specifically at first we had 1, then a few years later got a second one. Eventually the first one died of old age and the second one was very sad until we got another kitten which forced her to.. "wake up" as the little one wouldn't stop teasing her. Generally speaking, it's better if they are a pair as they have company even when you are not around.
The food and daily expenses aren't much. The only real issues is at the begging as typically they don't need much after it. For their ampules (for the fur and parasites) it's ~50 every 6-9 months so it's not forbidding and their shots are maaaaaaaany years apart.. So unless they get sick (like a human) the cost isn't something (obviously after the initial shots + neutering -> dooon't have a cat without being neutered in an apartment.. It's a disaster for both you and the cat and it's bad for their health if they aren't neutered but you aren't letting them have kittens (for the females mostly)).

The apartment isn't very big but it's doable and 1 vs 2 cats won't really make a difference in space. They are tiny anyway but keep in mind they will probably break a few things.. What worries me is the balcony. Check them a lot at first, make sure they don't try to "escape" or are overly curious because it's a very easy balcony to escape or fall from. I would add a couple of plants for sure for the cats.

1 good thing about getting 2 cats vs 1 is that even if your life changes and don't have a lot of free time, they wil be ok with eachother. And I'm guessing you have SOME cat experience.. Diffirently you would be considering 2 cats out of nowhere.. It's not easy to adapt if you are "clueless".
The first few months will be crucial to their behavior as well and IF you think you might have lesser time for them don't allow them to be excessively attached to you (aka like mine that won't even eat if my dad isn't there... or sleep if he isn't with him, he basically just meows until he gets back xD) and socialize them as much as possible with other people and animals (they might need to go to your parents for 1 day or 2, or a friend might need to come feed them, etc)

If you are unfamiliar with raising a cat, then let your mom surprise you with 1 :P Because they are a handful and demand attention xD Even the most "snob" ones.. And tiny kittens are almost .never snobs :P That's usually more common on older cats (6 months-1 year+).

Remember their NAILSSSSSSSSSS especially since they are indoor cats. And they also need sun for their fur. As for exercise don't worry.. You'll soon see them on the bookshelf or a cupboard or above the fridge and the tv xD
Check if they like cables, if they do try to "hide" all power supply spots because they tend to be idiots and chew or play with them. If you cook in the house ALWAYS check the stove and leave a pot with water if it's hot (like I said.. they tend to be stupid..... Our female one used to love to walk in the kitchen.. It's a miracle she never got burned xD ). And generally keep in mind they are "stupid".. Knives, glasses, random objects.. Something will break 100% :P

Edit: Well.. I forgot xD Like I said they can be a handful xD Always check their ears, eyes and nose. Eyes and nose are easy as they are 100% visible if "water" runs. The ears are a bit more tricky (inside the ear). If they overly scratch is an indicator. Oh! And sudden bad smell of the fur or mouth

Yeah the big worry offcourse is always something medical, a lot of people don't/can't seek treatment for their pets because they got so expensive. My mom says (males?) can spray if they are not castrated or it was females, i don't remember.
And yes they had a flea investation once and that was horrible.

Through the front door there are 5 fire protecting doors in total to get outside so really escaping is near impossible, the only way would be the balcony.
And yes that needs to be adressed altthough i don't really know how (yet), i know about nets, but i don't know about the railing i mean if they fall from the railing in the net each time, that's also impossible, i rather also not drill.

I wanted a balcony full of flowers/plants (things to grow like apples, i already got a tomato plant) but there are so many things on my have list (curtains, window bug protection, tv cabinet, closet for in my bedroom) etc etc, not sure what can come when (but in the winter such plants/trees are kinda useless).

And yes i wanted 2 cats (especially since they are brothers/sisters) but my mom just doesn't want to see it, and yes it does cost twice the food and potential medical bills.

My mom always told me she was allergic to cats (even though we had one before i was born but he even attacked dogs, so my parents got rid of it to protect me). When my dad passed away she got 2 as a kitten (they are 2 years old now) so i know a little bit about it, although i never done stuff like the litter box etc, one loved to pet my head, the other loved getting foot massages from me.
Since i moved away they shy away like i abandoned them, if something were to happen to my mom, i don't want them to end up in an asylum so i might get those two too, so why choosing 2 now and 2 later might be a bit much (even though you eventually hope to move bigger but you don't got that glass ball to predict the future). And they broke about 10 vases, they don't care and they are spoiled. :p

I got induction and if there is no pan on it, it goes automatically off, knives are in a drawer, glasses in a cabinet, i think it's all catproof.

What about the nails, do you have to clip them? My mom has a lot of wooden door posts and some are really scratched to bits, i kinda worry about them scratching too much yeah, as i like to keep things neat as possible.

"My mom says (males?) can spray if they are not castrated or it was females, i don't remember."
Males spray yes (but they can also pee - females too), females leave "spots" (small red/brown dots aka their period).
Apart from hygiene and shattering your nerves, it's also very bad for the female's health mainly (long story short, uterus problems).

"balcony full of flowers/plants" -> Any plant will do. The idea is for them to focus on the plant/leaves or play in the dirt, basically anything for them to NOT focus on the street and block their view and easy access outside (aka what the net would do). For the rail there is nothing you can do except add thing to "block" them (some difficult of spiky plant - no they won't hurt themselves on the plant but they might try a super jump regardless..). Generally they don't like jumping where they can't see and if they are unfamiliar with the outside (aka after 6 months to a year it's "strange" for them) they won't try to escape. They might fall by mistake.. Good thing is you don't have a direct neighboring balcony so they can't try to sneak next door

"My mom" -> if you can't get both, either pick a totally different kitty (that you aren't attached from photos etc) or let your mom pick 1. Try to avoid the "what would had happened, etc". The cat is a problem for your mom? Allergies etc. You can try hypo allergic cats (norwegian forest is a good example) - ok they cost more than the entire medical bills xD But they are awesome. Personally I had 2 Persian and 1 Himalayan cats.
If anything happens to your mom, the cats will be the least.. And -yes, it sounds horrible, I know, sorry- you'll probably get a bigger house at that time.. The one she is in and already has the cats or something similar if you sell it/ rent it etc.. But that's grim and gloomy.. Iiiiif something happens, you'll see then. Like you said, we don't have a magic ball to predict :P

"i think it's all catproof." NOTHING is ever cat proof.. Ever xD But yes, you are making it as safe as you possibly can. Expect something crazy always though

"What about the nails, do you have to clip them? My mom has a lot of wooden door posts and some are really scratched to bits, i kinda worry about them scratching too much yeah, as i like to keep things neat as possible." 3 cats and 28 years later with cats this will be hard but not totally impossible. They need 1 place for sure. Allow them 1 thing to scratch and move them there if you hear anything scratching sound. Move them from what they scratch until they learn.. Eventually all 3 cats learned to claw just 1 specific carpet and the furniture were saved :P
We clip them when we can hear them on the floor (wooden floor). For whatever reason they might not scratch them enough or they grow too fast etc. We take him to the vet for clipping but you can learn and on your own (we were always scared + it's cheap so.. let the vet do it and be extra safe :D - cat's nails contrary to ours have a vein close to their base so you gotta be sure)
Edit: Again I forgot something, lol xD The problem is if their nails get too big, they might turn towards their paw and pierce it. Which will be a pain in the ass for both of you

It sounds like a mountain.. Buuut it really isn't. 99% of the times you'll know what to do and how to react. All it really takes is watching out the cat. If you pay attention to their personality, you'll know if something is off, if they are happy/hungry/mad/annoyed etc. Definitely it will help with germ-phobia.. Their fur :P (And no, no cat owner likes the litter box :D We just tolerate it as it is 30 sec :P )

So no matter if you "fix" females they will still leave those spots or that will be gone? I really don't like to see such stuff especially not on stuff like my couch. :x
I mean pee i can handle, and if properly cleaned you can't see it anymore but if got half my furniture with that over the years.
I haven't really noticed my moms cats peeing somewhere except in the box, but i had a friend whose cat certainly peed in the living room.

There are plenty of cats here, i know one neighbour on the ground has 1, and a female neighbour (i live around many females, so many cats :p) to the right of me (apparently a nice girl but i never seen her) she had her balcony door open, and 2 cats there, they might all jump off the balcony and have a party together. :p No but she doesn't even protect the railing, she really trust those cats, there are even benches they could climb on and jump off from, but they are older, i mean a kitten might be more prone to just go through it, most likely by mistake.

No my mom lied throughout my entire life because my dad really didn't wanted any cats anymore and thus she faked being allergic.
And i now live alone, she already got 2 cats for 2 years as i said, and this cat will be mine, and for 3 weeks i been living alone now. hence i also suddenly feel the loneliness.
If i get a cat it would be from the same place (and perhaps mother) as the ones she has.

There is 1 white one and one with this reddish face (a friend said he/she looked stubborn like i am). The others are (too) black, and my mother doesn't like those but maybe i don't either and maybe it's because that whole black cat would bring bad luck thing.
I really would have loved a totally red one, but they don't have them.

My mom had a climbing pole (which cost 150 euro a bit much) with a spot to scratch on, but since they are so spoiled they don't use it often.
I don't have all those wooden posts, except the doors are wood ,and the balcony doors, i do want them to be able to sit on the couch, since my place is small, and give them some space but i also like to keep my couch whole offcourse, i know there are citron sprays that will certainly keep them off certain things, but if i can't even let them on the couch their space is gonna be limited i feel.
Like some people are okay with them being on your bed, even sleep with them, but that's a thing that's gonna be a big no no for me, that will remain unhygienic to me.

I don't know about your country, i wouldnt even know the costs here, but once i had to go to the vet to get something for tics, parasites and what not and it cost 80 euro and my mom was like no and i had to go back to refund it, let alone what clipping nails would cost.
There are big companies here that buy up the vets, therefor making it very or too expensive for many people with a small income, which influences the care of the pets. There is only 1 government party that wants to do something about it, but they can't do much being alone.

I have not really experienced claw issues aside from the door posts, with my moms cats however they did a few times tried to sink their teeth in a finger, and offcourse they aren't biting through and just testing, but it was scary in the beginning.

For the time being i will be here pretty much 24/7 so i got all the time for the cat and keep an eye out for it.
With cat proof i mean at one wall side i have a desk and some nightstands where stuffed animals are on it (for now) and on the other wall there is a sofa and seats (eventually i have to get tv furniture and move the couch to the center with a saloon table) but in my view atleast for now it got this wide open space (and the balcony) to walk around and play at. Offcourse i will miss things that aren't catproof and i will figure out eventually.

They are like human babies (not that i have one) but hope this also helps me learn that particular phase if i do ever get children, in the end yeah they are both living things and everything seems so fragile, you think how on earth am i going to do this and that, but it's a matter of trying.

If you neuter a female cat then no spots. No uterus, no ovaries.

" i mean a kitten might be more prone to just go through it, most likely by mistake."
Pretty much yeah, natural curiosity. In 28 years only 3 times they fell by accident to the garden.. Funnily we went from 2 times my male cat to 1 time my female and 0 the new male xDDD

"My mom had a climbing pole (which cost 150 euro a bit much) with a spot to scratch on, but since they are so spoiled they don't use it often."
It doesn't have to be a scratch post, most don't even touch it. We went for a specific rug and my aunt for a specific pillow. They tend to prefer YOUR stuff.. Not stuff you buy for them
In this regard.. -> "Like some people are okay with them being on your bed, even sleep with them, but that's a thing that's gonna be a big no no for me, that will remain unhygienic to me."
I'm one of those people :P But a trick you can do if you can stand it is give them a (worn) piece of clothing depending on the season and place it on the feet of the bed. They tend to want to sleep with your smell so they'll stay there. Of course they'll try to move towards the pillow and you'll need to clean but 90% they stay there. Same thing can be applied to where you want them to sleep (a t-shirt on the couch etc as you probably won't have the space to close them in a room overnight (my oldest cat would sleep in the kitchen the first few years because I was 4 years old :P )
Citrus spray will end up ruining the couch more than the cat xD

"I don't know about your country, i wouldnt even know the costs here, but once i had to go to the vet to get something for tics, parasites and what not and it cost 80 euro and my mom was like no and i had to go back to refund it, let alone what clipping nails would cost."
You have thief vets :D I'm from Greece and despite eeeeverything being expensive a vet isn't it.. Typical visit can be from 20 to 50 depending if they need blood work or no. For nails we pay 10. Surgeries are more costly though, I forgot prices as it has been forever :D

"With cat proof " What I mean about nothing can be cat proof? My cat jumps from the couch and hits his head on the table that's 1 meter away........ Because he is crazy xD Aka anything is possible with a cat :P Expect stupid stuff you would had never thought were possible..

"but it's a matter of trying." You can't fail them if you love them. If they have food, love and ok conditions you simply can't fuck up enough for them to hate you. You can't choke them like with a baby as they eat on their own, you'll see if they get sick (their behavior changes dramatically.. You get what I mean :P And they sense if you like them

But because the space will be small, be careful of where the cat is in the house.. My mom has step on them quite a few times.. My dad tends to not even lift his feet at night without light to not step on them and just "gently hit them on the side with the foot" if they try to come close.. Better than scoring goal with them like my mom xD I'm exaggerating with the goal comment of course buuut it has happened.. Same as kicking them in her sleep off the bed.. (30cm from the ground, 0 harm, just a very funny and shocking expression xD)

Human babies are 10000000 times more demanding but it's a start to "responsibility". And awesome company <3

Heads up, the green parts of tomato plants are toxic to cats. Not a big deal for outdoor cats with lots of choices, but if that is the only plant around, do not let them chew on it.

Yeah, figured you had some keys left indeed, I think being more selective would already help a lot if right now you basically buy all, also remember someone giving you the advice to set a max amount a month for such stuff, not sure if that would work for you but stuff like that can really help!

With the cat, always check them yourself and decide, an animal is not a simple toy or a book, you need to see them yourself and decide which one you think fits you, else there is a chance you get a kitten you feel no connection with or doesn't fit you well.

A self cleaning litterbox is great for the owner but I heard it's pretty disgusting for the cat since it turns and so the top also starts to smell a bit which makes it feel for the cat he is in a dirty cave, not sure how the one you looked at works, but I am against such, I just use a deepvrieszakje, use a scooper, scoop the stuff out, put it in the bag, then clean the scooper but a wet towel cleaning thingy, wash my hands and then close the bag, which is still clean at the top since I fold the edges away to keep them clean and throw it away, that way I basically don't touch anything bad since I also don't do good with germs, not as bad as you I guess though.

The stuff with your mom sounds bad as well, personally I would just not get a cat, try to get more stuff fixed and then get a cat yourself, maybe from the shelter since they also have kittens often enough or try a different way since I get where your mom comes from and get where you come from since nice of her for paying but in the end it's your cat and your choice and now it feels as if you are colliding and well, maybe just save up and buy your own since if you be more careful with your money I am sure you can do that soon enough! (I don't know your whole situation obvious but I hate being depended on others since they always expect things for it and I assume you already save a lot if you buy way less bundles?)

Right now there is no clear financial picture, because i have to pay things in advance and get back later, received extra vacation money, but also unexpected bills that some companies like to spare up (like one f.e for 3 months making it an extra unexpected 200 euro bill).
Eventually in the upcoming months it will draw to something steady and learn what exactly i will have in a month, but right now it's hard to figure out how much money i have today, next week and in 3 weeks (when i get new money).

https://www.amazon.nl/Curver-CURVER-KATTENBAK-ANTR-51X38/dp/B00I7WL962/ i had that one in mind (i can't expect a 400 euro litterbox, that's crazy), you can remove the step and some do leave the door open (but then you will get the smell). I have no idea how they work, what is comfortable for a cat or not.
Such a bag seems like precision work, my mom always uses those yellow plastic recycling bags, and then put it in the shed.
My question (also to her was) i am afraid when we are hitting degrees of 30c (and possibly next week already and still no curtains near my balcony.) how that is going to work, i imagine you tie a knot in it, but with a yellow bag you can't do that each time, or do i just "store" 3 days worth and then just go more to the bin outside to empty it.
The litterbox doesn't even seem to me my biggest issue with it all, since it's combined with kitty litter, more the accidents they will have ouside the box.

What you mean getting stuff fixed? I miss companionship (no family, no friends) and i think this is my best shot getting over the whole germphobia thing. I have seen videos, photo's of the cats, so it's really hard to distance myself, you can say i already fallen for them.
If i didn't had footage it was way easier to say oh i will just wait.
Yes i depended a lot on my mom (and even my dad when he was alive) and yes i hate it, but no saving isn't in the books for some time, because of the germphobia thing (and being spoiled) i wanted things as much new as possible, and that succeeded, but in a new house you will notice there will come things that you keep on needing, like i still need curtains (and horre, lots of insects here) and if i get a cat something for the balcony), last week i thought lets make a toasted bread with egg, to find out wait i don't have a bread toaster.
Oh and a cabinet to put my tv on (and store some of my junk in the closets) and a saloon table.

I find it a hard thing, but personally I am not a fan of getting a pet if I know I am financial unstable, you have your mom to rely on if needed, but is that what you want? I personally think, like you said, it's best to get clear how you are doing income wise and then get a plan ready for the future, at first that sucks and takes a lot of afford but in the long run it's much better and reduces the stress a lot.

Those litterboxes are in my opinion just the same as every other one but instead of taking the top off, you take the bottom part out, which in my opinion gives the exact same result so I would not find that extra money worth it, but if you think it matters for you.
I get rid of the bag every time I clean it, do that every few days, that way it doesn't stay inside the house, usually I also have some other garbage I rather not throw in the normal bin inside (since I only replace that one once every few weeks) so to prevent bugs I have some meat/fruit/veggie stuff I throw away separately in a small bag and just add the bag of the litterbox to that and throw it all out, you could have a small bucket with a lit to keep it safe but yeah in hot days it will attract unwanted visitors so better just throw it out right away.

Well, not sure how it is at your side of the country, but here no matter if a house is new or old, when you rent it (or even often when buying) you need to buy furniture and curtains and such, that's normal, I never saw a place that already had that stuff included.
I understand where you are coming from, I am very lonely as well and I love my cat, same as that I love to have a dog to give me a reason to go outside, but if I am then not able to afford it or mentally not being able to walk it every time, owning a dog would just be an extra responds ability I may not be ready for yet and yes I can see cute dogs and it makes me feel extra lonely, but in the end I help nobody by getting an animal I in the end can't give the care it needs but again I don't know you enough but I would never advice someone an animal if financial (s)he is very unstable even when you have a mom who can pitch in BUT I also understand the love for wanting a cat...

Btw, you can easily toast bread in a normal pan or in the oven ;)

I will have money left at the end of a month that's not an issue, and i could/should have saved way earlier i mean i knew 6 months that i would be moving, some might have 1 month (but i been so stupid to keep buying computer stuff (which i now struggle to stash) but it's also stuff that are limited in sales, and i want certain collections complete, and for now there isn't much more of that i need.
Job wise with my past there isn't really a plan anymore, and then you always end up with a low paying job, and in these days sometimes you are better off financally on wellfare then with a job even, because you lose toeslagen.

Yes but most people without germphobia, have no problem at all buying second hand stuff, and maybe some tv furniture or cabinets isn't an issue, but never a couch or chairs (who knows what happened there), and people around me were like get a drying rack for your wash, but i am like all those bugs (more then i expected on your clean wash) besides if i have 2-3 loads that's never gonna work, i am just going for a dryer.
Sometimes however if you have a rental place, a new renter can say i will take over certain stuff, the company you hire from and the renter both have to agree, offcourse you wont nearly get the invested money back, but it's better then having to clear the whole place.
It also depends how neat you keep things, i mean suppose i move next year, and my kitchen and floor still looks brand new, unless its not the persons taste, why would they invest in all that again?

A dog has also crossed my mind, you can even meet people (even a partner, like when a woman would say aaahw cute doggie) but it also means letting it out through wind, storm, rain, cold and that's not me, with a cat that is a lot easier.
With mentally does that mean you stay often in your house, like no work or social stuff?

I am not financially that unstable, i don't care if i have to eat sandwhiches for awhile, but my mom first said june/july and then she would take the cat in the beginning but then she heard its best to get it to me within 1 day so the cat can get used to it better.
So this all comes a bit quicker then i thought (with the surprise bills), i can buy him/her food, kitty litter etc that wouldn't be an issue, it's more the stuff like shots and a castration costs 400 euro, i can also imagine my mom doesn't want to do that twice, but even that i wanted to save up for myself and again even if that meant eating sandwhiches for 4 months, but she doesn't want that.

I don't have an oven, nor microwave (hate anything out of a microwave) i do have this: https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/ninja-foodi-af400eu-dubbele-airfryer-xxl-twee-kookvakken-9-5-liter-2470-watt-dual-zone-technologie/9300000052159783/ costly but so worth it, you can even put vegetables or steaks in them. But normally most airfryers you get weak frites, bleak kroketten, and it takes 30 minutes, but this?
I can take kroketten straight out of the freezer, and in 10 minutes they come out just as a normal fryer, and yesterday i baked some pita breads in it also with no problem.

I personally am not a fan of second hand stuff if I can't clean it well, did get a couch from a second hand store but that was real leather and 0 damage so I could just clean it, any other fabric I would have never gotten it!
Here it's super rare stuff is still in the house, since if the renting company says it's okay to leave in, by the time someone checks the place out, if they say no, the renting company has to pay to get rid of it and it's super rare for an old renter to meet the new one here.
Hanging out clothes is never been my thing, indeed bugs and such and if you hang it outside, means if there is bad weather you can't dry and well, we have bad weather a lot so I just own a dryer as well, way easier, faster, cleaner, etc.

With mental I mean my autism and chronic depression, which simply means I have a huge sleep issue and a huge stress issue (and more but these are the 2 biggest things for this) and stress means you don't always react well and my cat is the best cat ever since I know I can be a bit harsh towards him when he does stuff that I find not okay and does anyway since he is an asshole, but he doesn't seem to mind (thank god since I don't mean it as bad as I sometimes react which I hate about myself) and also bad nights means feeling weak and blegh and on bad days it can be hard for me to go on 4 walks a day, not even talking about morning walks and you can't just say 'not now sweetie, come back in a few hours and just hold it' so yeah, I need to be sure to handle it, sadly the only way to be sure is to try it... dilemma!!

That thing is indeed huge and super expensive, glad you are happy with it but damn!! I just have a normal airfryer for €50 or €60 and it works great, crispy fries, tasty krokketten done in 10 to 15 minutes (or however long the package says they need) and it all works great, could easily put anything I want in and works fine, just have to not overfill it, then it doesn't get crispy, but for each their own, if you find that worth it, then you do you ^^

Yeah, we had 6 months with a temperature below 20c, even now i am still wearing a sweater sometimes, it can range from 14 to 22 depending whre you live.
But i have a heat pump installation, and apparently if you want to permanently set your thermos to a new temperature a neighbour told me you have to do it 24 hours before. And there is some cooling but only 2c, so when it gets 30c next week, i am still at 28c, but with no curtains yet before my balcony door, maybe i have to just put waste bags in front of it for the time being.

Cats always do things they aren't supposed to, at my moms they broke about 10 vases.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2256230/Bad_cat_Sam/ My moms cat is called sam (and knuffie).

4 walks? I thought 2 or something was enough for dogs. And what about getting groceries then?
But that's exactly my issue with a cat, how will i deal with the accidents? After 10 times am i like be okay with it or am i still freaking out like the first time (and swearing)? You can't just simply say oh it's not working, put it in an asylum, it's a commitment for life.

My parents tried normal airfryers (100+ euro), i did a lot of investigating, and offcourse it might totally depend on the brand, but we couldn't find one where stuff came out normally like it should. Well i am not a person that likes to cook, especially not just for myself. This one was also an incentive that i could just throw anything in and just press a button and have a proper meal, although using 2 sides at the same time does use a lot of electricity (2600kwh) but using two is like for 4-5 persons. And i already had in hindsight suppose i do ever meet someone (get children or has children) then that's dealt with too, i mean normal airfryers are usually small and if you got a decent family it will take several rounds of airfrying.

You'll do just fine :P Because you are already thinking about it. There is NO human on the planet that NEVER shouted to a pet.. Even if it was 1 sentence.. If they do the same thing 10 times then it's "your fault". The vase example.. Just remove the vase, or put it somewhere the cat doesn't go to, or change the material of the vase.. Or buy a cheap vase that you won't care if it breaks. But also think and how many times we have broken a glass or a plate.. How many times we spilled something etc.
Usually cats have specific bad habits. Others claw things, others break, others run around, etc. You won't easily see a cat that does it all.. That's usually in already old cats that cannot adapt to a new environment. You are thinking to buy kittens so they will grow with you and "learn manners" with you. Basically the first 6 months to a year I mentioned to the above post.
Depending on their habit, you'll manage it differently. If it's claws allow them at a specific place, if it's chewing get them their own safe cable, if they break things focus on how and rearrange the apartment etc, like it would be with a roommate that keeps bumping to 1 specific table.

With accidents i don't really mean the broken vases and such, i mean the things they should do in a litterbox but not always do (or leave traces with their paws then again their food can look the same so you can't always tell what is what).
Even my moms 2 year old cats still did it (even though sometimes it was because the litterbox was full) but that's a thing you can't really prevent, especially not with a kitten that needs to learn.

I mean with my germphobia thing, the litter is a confrontation for me, even myself if i go i always taking a shower, it goes that far with me (now) and when my moms cats always had their accident and my mothers eyesight isn't the best she would pick up the big pieces but eventually i had to clean up the rest and i would take a (long) bubblebath but i would now have to do that part myself, and i have no bath anymore.
It would be a bit silly for me to think putting them back in an asylum over some broken vases and glasses. :p

Kittens will actually go there regardless (unlike dogs that indeed need to leqrn from you). I doubt you'll ever have the "full litterbox" problem :P Maybe if they get sick (a simple cold, nothing huge).. Well.. It won't be easy.. Especially if the cat needs washin or whipping.. But that's rare and maybe someone can help or you can pay 10-20 for the doc to do it. Keep in mind a cat will aaalways try to clean itself.
For the floor etc, obviously a pair of gloves and fast moves! And throw the bag outside. I would avoid chlorine as it's difficult to wash and remove. Dish soap is usually enough or a floor cleaning product (small quantities).

Which reminds me of hair balls.. The vet can show you, but there are some pills and snaks that help avoid the making of those balls in the cat's stomach. It's actually more yuuuuuk than poop.. And frequent brushing

But it's not more frequent than any human having some gross accident and it's not like you'll go from 0 to 100 :P This might happen in a month and then a year, maybe 5 years or 3 times in a month but the point is it's an exception. You'll slooowly adapt and tolerate (probably with a shower or 2 or 3..) because with time you'll love them more and be more used to it. The first few times will be the "shock". Is there someone that might moraly help with that?

You'll be surprised for how much less than 10 vases people have thrown their pets out :(

But so young already? I mean my moms two cats first did it under the cabinets across the entire wallside, when it was near summer and we started to have many flies and i started to do some investigating.

My moms cats constantly kept licking themselves the whole day, even parts like i am dude can't you do that privately (although i never actually seen some private parts like where are they hiding). :p

My mom has tiles, but i have wooden floors, i am betting chlorine would completely ruin the floors, soap might not kill all bacteria, maybe dettol wipes (although that is expensive).
Also i have to go through 5 doors and while there are outside containers now close to the door but eventually they are gone and even have to walk a bit, i think i am better off flushing.

My moms cats (again) never had any hair balls in their life (yet) they did throw up a few times though.

I just wish there was something morally that could help me, if only, a girlfriend would certainly helped me with so much in life, but since that's also a glass ball thing and unpredictable, i only got meds, friday i switched to clonazepam but what i was afraid of, that also isn't doing much, i firmly believe in some strong immunity and there is a thing called a gen test but it isn't covered or i could go to amsterdam but i don't got a drivers license, and getting there is not easy.

Yeah and with corona many thought to get some companionship, and now they are back to their busy lives, and just dump them :x

So young and younger.. It's basically since always as they hate dirty environments (exception is when they wanna mate)

Under the cabinet is a very very very weird place.. Max ours ever did was in a plant.. And that because he was a dick.. Ok, semi-dick.. He wasn't neutered at the time.. So.. :P Keep the litterbox clean and with enough "sand" in it and unless something is wrong they'll be inside it. Sliiight warning.. there is a small chance they might.. go off target with poop even in the box..... Usually happens with the last poop when they jump outside.. Rare.. but it has happened.. Fair warning :P

"clonazepam" I've heard of it but I have no idea what it does (or side effects)
Strangely enough the cat might actually help you get past their crap (literal and no). They have a huuuuge soothing effect + it has been proven they help with relaxation and throw down high cardiac pulse. They can relax you after causing you stress in a way.
I'm not an expert on the subject, faaaar from it, but I believe that a cat can help you make progress and with the germs and responsibilities and other factors actually, without being "too much effort". You are overthinking it now and try to think every possible scenario but usually it's a routine with a rare hiccup.
Are you ok with them being very energetic? Most (but not all) cats from shelter or "no breed" cats tend to be more energetic than breed cats that you buy from a pet shop.

Here with corona people would get dogs just to send the "dog walk" sms................... -.- Btw, I wouldn't suggest a dog especially with germ phobia. Their walks would be insane weight for you.. Washing their feet, etc + small space

They did it under the long cabinets when they were still kittens, i guess they werent trained well and thought they could just do it anywhere they thought/liked.

You really dont making it easy to "set my mind at ease" with those warnings. :p
And you haven't answered me the question if females still leave stains even after being fixed?

Apparently clonazepam is very strong, people get tired, especially kicking off it, but it's to surpress certain stimulants (anxiety/stress) in your brain (also used against epilepsy).
But i got this strong immunity (in my opinion) why i can also handle my liquor very well (i can take some booze and still end up in the top 3 of TF2 or the other people are just bad :p).
And i took an oxycodin from my dad after he passed away, which supposedly is as addictive as heroine, but it did nothing to me, i can take a gen test but it isn't covered because our government thinks it's not real science yet, and having taken the clonazepam since friday now, i must say i don't really feel any difference.
The problem is everyone offcourse go on their holidays, so if my dosage needs keep getting fixed i can't, but i also still need curtains (it's gonna be 30c this weekend, i just put waste bags before my windows now, a cat proof balcony etc, but also dependant on volunteers but they also have their holidays.

I got two left hands, my volunteer also helps my mom, and my dad has boxes full saved with screws and plugs etc, that guy knows exactly what he ne needs and he can ask my mom can i have a look and she will definitely say offcourse, but for some reason that is not possible and i should do it and pick, but i would come back with wrong screws, plugs or even a wrong drill, so i am now like fine, whatever then don't help me.

Plus the whole cat thing with my mom turned into this sort of fight, i was like hey i found this 40 euro litterbox that would clean itself (there are also 400 euro ones but thats a bit crazy) i even said i pay it, i even said get me 2 cats (i can't pick) some kitty litter and some food, and i will even get the rest, but then she was done with me, i was even ungrateful and it was her way or the highway..So i don't even know if a cat is coming (got 3 weeks although the owners offcourse want an answer as soon as possible not to give it to someone else).
I can stay just as angry or say fine, you all deal with it however you want and i'll take whatever is coming.
She has the adress, so it's not like i can go get them myself, else i would have had.

Some are warning me though like should i do it now? Yes financially it gives some more room, i don't have to deal with the litter box thing and everything and have some rest settling down first, and wait for a nest again next year, but then i have a year of no companionship, a year not trying to deal with that germphobia thing, plus i already seen the videos and pictures offcourse i already fallen in love, if only i didn't see footage then it would be so much easier to distance yourself from it.

But aside from the whole litterbox and accident thing, you have cats that want to crawl on your lap or your couch, while in my mind they dont wipe, i dont have a choice letting them on the couch and other places, but on my lap would also be a thing.
Yeah the whole litterbox and accidents are a right in your face thing, and i think/hope i would get over it, i mean take f.e a fear of spiders, the only way to really get over it is, is by trying, and i don't think this is any different.
And i mean when they are still kittens (basically babies) yeah i also imagine looking at them you can't stay mad at them for long, right?

With the weather we are having? And i am a computer guy, so lazy, so no a dog is definitely not an option, but most of all we are obligated to clean up after them, so we have to walk with a bag behind them, and that's just something i definitely won't do. Indoor cats are perfect in that regard but also their independence (which dogs have less) they can seek you up but also be totally fine on their own.

Typically, I wouldn't warn but you wanted to be prepared because of a specific problem and a "fear" (can't find a better word atm :P ) of "what if shit hit the fan and I have to let go?"
Well.. The shit are shit but it's the minority :P

I did answer to that :P Yes, they "go away" since by neutering them you remove the reproductive system. No period then, just like with a woman.

"i just put waste bags before my windows now" newspapers would produce less heat as they aren't made of plastic. Ugly ik.. But bags aren't much better :P Why not hang a sheet as a temporary solution?

"Plus the whole cat thing with my mom turned into this sort of fight" which still makes 0 sense.. Especially over a litter box :/
You talked at all with her about it lately?

"Some are warning me though like should i do it now?" they are perfect "low maintenance" (mostly if you compare it with a dog) companions. Even the most "cold" ones that prefer to look at you (Persians are like that.. Oh boy the hunt I was giving for a hug xD Kept running around the cat to hug him by force.. Poor kitty xD - I was 4......... Not that it stopped me at 14 or 24 xDDD But it's funny how they didn't want hugs aaand meowed when after their fight you let them go to be hugged again.... xD)

"while in my mind they dont wipe" reserach their saliva a bit. It might help you understand that they are clean even if they don't use paper or soap (similar to dogs and the antiseptic "power" of their salive -> a dog licking your wound can help if you have nothing else to put on it, etc etc etc).

"Yeah the whole litterbox and accidents are a right in your face thing, and i think/hope i would get over it," Ok, I have a bad analogy for this :P Your pc :D It needs cleaning, it can catch a virus, it can "scare" you with various crap from videos, to scams, to malfunctioning yadda yadda yadda.. Buuuut in the end it makes you happy and you relax with it after you solve the problem. Ik ik crap example.. But cats are similar :P The will do X crap thing aaand then start being sweet.. Or purr.. Or sleep.. Or look at you with that idiotic look "wtf did I do hooooman??" Even if like the assholes they are they just broke a glass out of spite on the floor while you look at them :P (thankfully mine were never like that, but my aunt's is :P

"yeah i also imagine looking at them you can't stay mad at them for long, right?" Despite aaaall their crap we never could stay mad more than 5 minutes max :P They get that stupid guilty/"woops I fucked up" look on their face.. Even older cats.. Meh.. I can't say no xD

I did not see that answer then, and the conversations really got long, also with maruten combined.

I don't have newspapers, it's just expensive and bad news these days anyway, and how would you secure sheets? I mean maybe with strong duct tape but don't have that handy, i got painters tape, and that even barely secures the bags, and it can't be white, because like cars they soak up the sun and black was heat resistant (or the other way around, can't remember) or does that even affect sheets (questions).

Yesterday, it all went through whatsapp, and my mom sometimes just doesn't make sense, she can even have these stupid discussions with my sister, and had fights with others, i also fear the tia and also being alone now affected her mental state, but she and i used to have our indifferences too when my dad was still alive, when she had the TIa, and i cooked for months and did groceries it kinda changed.

She now texted me there is only 1 left, the one with the reddish face, one of the two choices, and i need to either go for it (or not) before that one is gone too.
While i supposedly had 3 weeks (and maybe it's a convenient lie) but this won't make me feel guilty for choosing 1 or the other, and even a friend said this one was suited for me, also because he looked stubborn like me and being left maybe that was meant to be.
And it's better if i ever get her cats too, that i am not swamped with 4 cats, but "just" have 3, and who knows maybe it's a nice eye catcher to my next door neighbour, and she says ahw cute kitty/pussy can i pet it?
And i can reply if i can do yours (sorry, sorry, sorry that's just so wrong). :p

Very bad example, the only thing that it can really gather is dust (which basically consists of your own hair, skin etc), although i had a real bug in my case once, i think it liked the fans in the hot summer.
And yeah don't just wake up without any coffee and open certain twitter pages (i wish that was so much more monitored), and cats just do that 1 thing that pc's don't. :p Okay they can possibly leak when you got water cooling but i don't. :p

Well, I don't have any cooling system in my house, just a fan I placed myself but yes, either put old newspapers or garbage bags or just carton in front of the windows before it gets too hot and get good curtains that can block the sun, nowaday with these heatwaves, unless you are lucky and have no sun on the windows, you NEED something god to block it!

2 walks? poor dog! a dog needs to be walked every so many hours, maybe if you have a dog that can handle it well I would say 3 times, depending on the dog, but 2 times, some do that but I find that sad, consider you pee and then need to wait 10 to 12 hours before your next time you can go? yeah that's a no for sure for me, I always walked dogs 4 times, if you are lucky you could get away with 3 times but less I just find sad!
I do get groceries, but lets be honest, the more times you go per week, the more chance you get extras you don't really need, with my ex I went every day since he wanted me to, but so much extra money wasted... now I go 2 times a week and maybe 1 time to a different store if they have a nice discount and that works for me, but for example when Corona started and every appointment went by phone I could easily not go outside for 5 days in a row since I can't go outside alone without a goal, groceries, dog walking, appointments are goals, because it's good for you is not! and then I just... can't go outside on my own, it sucks!

Sadly cats tend to be assholes, I love him but he is and he will always try to do stuff he KNOWS is not allowed and won't stop until I get 'angry' at him which I hate, also had times where I went so crazy that I started yelling at him and then sat crying because I couldn't handle him, times where I wanted to get rid of him, etc. but in the end I am very happy with him and love him!
With accidents you mean litterbox stuff? well, if the owner now is not doing a bad job, the kitten should already be litter trained, what we did is take a bit of dirty litter with you, put it in the new litterbox, put that box in the middle of the room until he notices and uses, then put it on the spot you want to have it unless that is very far away, then take steps, I never had issues like that but yeah happened that he walked out with poop on his foot, then I clean it with some wet toilet paper and move on since well, sadly stuff like that can happen, not often but it could technically happen.

I did indeed read a lot of negative stuff, but I had 2 airfryers (old one stayed with my ex) and both were great, just a simple Philips, no XL or special, just a simple one, but just like with any electric machine, it's always a bit of luck, at least that's how that feels to me.
I dislike to cook, I do it since I can't handle pre-made food very well so I don't have much choice, even pre-made sauce is an issue so either I make it myself or I don't eat it (that's why only sauce I eat is carbonara, which I make myself) so yeah, I adjust, make it fast, simple and cheap but it's not very motivating to cook for 1 person, like at all!

Well in the winter and normal temperatures being on the sun side that's actually nice offcourse, i mean my thermos says 21c while outside still 14c, and i was still like oh i have to wear a sweater (in june..).
But yeah not with heatwaves, it's annoying, i did offcourse had much carton, and even bed sheet covers i could use but no way to properly secure them (also don't got proper ducttape).

I can easilly buy curtains, and have them tommorow, but i am reliant on volunteers to help me with stuff, like hanging ceiling lamps, i specifically asked the middle person if he had all the proper equipment, so when he was here he was like no i am missing stuff, so he hang 1 1/2 lamp and even hit a power cable which resulted in a power loss at certain areas where i had to call in an electrician.
But that same person would also have to hang my curtains.

I don't know but i also believe a dog doesn't drink half as much as we do, how big their bladders are, 3 walks (let alone 4) is good for your health, but seems it makes you totally dependant that your dog needs you, however people with jobs they also can't walk their dogs 4 times a day right?

For some with groceries that's an issue, but i like my lemonade, a bit of milk, a big bag of toilet paper (i am a frequent user), if you don't have a car and rely on bike, you can't just simply get all your stuff in 1 go.
Luckily kattengrind and their food can be delivered to your door (and cheaper then a store).

I really think that differes totally per cat, i seen blooper videos on tv, where they can scratch ypi, break things on purpose, while my moms two cats are sort of saints really. Might also differ if you got a female or male, my mother always said females are the feisty ones.

With accidents yes i mean that, that they either do it outside the box for whatever reason or that they will drag it on the floor with them, that is kinda of a thing with me (i even shower myself after the toilet) so let alone with a cat, and then sit on your couch or want on your lap..
I seen some clips where they actually could go on a toilet (and if they could wipe) that would be so helpful. :p
And at home with my moms two cats, when i had to clean it up, my clothes went into the washing machine, i took a bubble bath but i can't do that anymore here.

I read about thuisgekookt.nl where people that make their dinner and have left, can deliver (or you pick it up) it to you, for 2 days a week.
At the cost of ingredient prices, you can say what you like or not like, but my mom said she heard bad things about it, so i don't know.

I rather have a cold house that I need to wear a vest then a house that is super hot in summer since I can dress against cold, not against heat, simple as that so my house is horrible for that!

Isn't there any volunteer place where you live where someone can help you with stuff? Here we have those places, never used them but I could, I am just not a fan of having people over, let alone who I don't know, but if you have nobody else...

I will leave the dog talk as it is, I said what I wanted about it and am afraid if I go more into it I will just piss people off so lets skip this!

I don't drink lemonade, I drink water and tea so for me it's not an issue to do it in 1 or 2 goes per week, heaviest will be stuff like potatoes but worst case, I just go by bike with a good bike bag and put it in there, easy solution to not wanting to hold that the whole way, that's how I always do it with heavy and/or big stuff.
Cat litter or food I just put on the back of my bike as well, a bike should be sturdy enough for that and find that easier than ordering and hoping the package didn't get damaged on the way here.

Not sure how common those accidents are at your moms place, but they should not be common at all, if the poop gets stuck on them it usually means either the litterbox really needs to be cleaned or they are not getting the right food that fits them since if the poop is sturdy enough that basically doesn't happen, had cats my whole life and close to never had that issue!
Not to sound mean, but did you ever get proper treatment for your germ issues? If not, maybe an idea to seek that first since this does not sounds healthy and also sounds like a huge annoyance to yourself. I mean I am a kind of person who is very careful with germs, but washing yourself after using the toilet or whatever? I know you want a companion and all, but are you sure you are ready for that germ wise, if you even shower after a toilet visit I would work on that first before considering getting an animal that can jump on everything (also your kitchen counter and such) while he may have stuff on his feet (even just dust or hairs that go everywhere)... in your situation with the germs and such, I would earlier advice you to take a small pet, maybe a hamster or something bigger if you have room, but NOT an animal that jumps on everything and comes everywhere and also loses hair everywhere.

Edit:
Anyway, I hope you can figure something out for yourself that works for you with the germs and the pet and such, I assume you know best what would work and that you can figure it out with your mom and the kitten(s)
I feel like this whole thing became a huge discussion again, which wasn't my intention to be honest, so maybe we should start to wrap this all up a bit and let this discussion go about your giveaway again ^^

Oh, i hate both cold and heat, and it's likely to become 30c this weekend, and i can order drapes on bol.com no problem, but noone to hang them up. I depend on volunteers through this person helping me, but that person is having 4 weeks of holiday, probably that volunteer too, so yeah, whatever needs to be done, they don't care. Their holiday is more important offcourse, let alone make some effort saying we come 2 days this week or a whole day till we get this done, last time he did 1 1/2 lamp and gave up saying he didn't had the proper equipment while i really warned the in between person, if he would have the proper stuff.

I came across this neighbour here, she said oh there is a facebook group with volunteers in my hometown, and she had a person that helped her, she would ask him, tell me the facebook group, but she never did..

Plus my answer above to Luckystrike, that volunteer for some reason doesn't dare to ask my mother to pick out some screws, plugs and drill (my dad saved dozens of boxes and my mom would want to get rid of them).
I just put waste bags on my balcony side (which makes it very dark inside, but that's the best to keep the heat outside), i was done, sitting with a cup of tea until the center all came loose. :x
Also why did the woningcooperation give us screens for our bedroom but not the balcony side (yeah money). :x

Uhm i really don't want to sound to clinical there, or really want to go into a discussion there (because of the topic) but my view about it is in many countries a bidet is actually normal and for that purpose, but can't be installed everywhere.
Aso when you step in something from a dog outside, most people would just wipe that off, but if someone's underwear is not really clean then people find it "okay" because you don't see it, but in my view i think it should just be common sense to be clean regardless there.
I saw a tv show where a philosopher (intelligent man) also just spoken about it how he would also shower without even having a germphobia thing, but also just found it common sense. But that's to each their own.

What i also mentioned to Luckystrike, is i think (and hope) if you compare it f.e a fear for snakes, the only real way to get over that is to take on your fear, approach a snake, touch it etc, and thinking cleaning up after a cat works the same way, and if they are still so young and cuddly, could one really stay angry at them long?

I am very easy, and if you really wanted something private and longer there are always older giveaway for people to do it, anyway if you want to end it here, it's fine your opinions and reactions are taken in.

Thank you for the talk..
