selected text bugs (blurriness)

as you can see in the attached screenshot:
there are some bugs with marked text that should be fixed someday

one that bugs me in particular:
marked text is often blurry if the text has a text-shadow, because the text shadow gets marked white -> each character is displayed twice -> blurry
