Indeed. A sad loss - His contributions to science helped, and will continue to help us in many way.

This is a dead that actually matters to me.

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
It matters that you don't just give up.”

― Stephen Hawking

RIP Dr. Hawking.
Even though you said you weren't afraid of death, hopefully knowing that you've left such an immortal legacy brought you some joy in your final hours.

Hawking was driven to Wagner, but not the bottle, when he was diagnosed with motor neuron disease in 1963 at the age of 21. Doctors expected him to live for only two more years.

RIP. One might say he lived the longest and fullest two years that ever existed and first hand experienced the theory of relativity. This shows how pure determination can overcome even the worst situations and lead to extreme accomplishments as long as there is full commitment.

The corpse is a fake.

He probably moved to space. To the "heaven" of space colonies.
will enjoy new life.

I didn't know much about his history, so to see he lived this long with that condition is incredible. Good on him for accomplishing so much in one lifetime! It is sad he is now gone, but he left one heck of an impact on the world!

If it helps, let me tell you that in a parallel universe he is still alive.

But truly a great lost for our universe.
