I'm curious to know if any of you have objectives regarding your Steam library.
They could be like reaching nk games or level n, beating n% of your library, playing n% of your backlog, ...

And here's a little GA:

My library is such a mess that I even don't know what kind of objectives I could have.
Like I will never play all games (too many free digital suicides from my more intense "hunting days"), I'm not into having "many games for sake of having many games".
I can only go with "try to play all good games in my lib"

I don't really have any objectives other than simply enjoying the games I have, and wanting to play the games I win on here as soon as possible. The 100% completion rate would be nice to look at, but trying to achieve that would stress me out :D
Also, thank you for the giveaway!

  • 1st objective, play all games won on SteamGifts, finish all the good ones, and mark as "crap" all the bad ones.

  • 2nd objective is finish all backlog games by categories, first category is going to be point&click adventure games.

I would love if they redid the design of library...
Its a horrible mess if you have a lot of games..

I try to add games I plan to play to favorites, but a lot of games still get forgotten.... Tedious to sort through all the library and all the nonsense categories :D

I'm 100% with you - totally agree!
I had to make 20 different library categories, but there are some of them (mainly the "completed/don't wanna play those things anymore" one and the "achievement spam/stupid games" one xD) that are impossible to read, owning 2000+ games I've got to go to my Steam profile every time..
And I made tons of categories as I said but still I have to make sub-categories (which do not exists!! so you're forced actually to make categories of the same kind, since there's no option to create sub-folders and such) 'cos I own tons of for instance RPGs, visual novels, puzzle games, logic games..
It would be awesome if the Steam library would be completely redesigned.. now it's a mess, and you can't even remove for instance the VR category if you play/own VR games..
But when you start owning 2 or 3000 games there are so many issues xD

My object is to play most of the games I own, but I'm stuck at playing that Sh1tty Rokcet League xD

Finish all the games I am interested in playing (games I won/games I've been gifted/games I bought, respectively) and enter GAs at the most possible minimum - meaning: I only enter GAs for games I could play in 1-3 months now. Helped me reduce my backlog, but I still wanna finish all the games I won here, so I quite often avoid entering a highly tempting GA xD

Used to have objectives but not any more. It's kind of hard now that 90% of bundles are shit, 90% of games are library fillers and there's less time to actually play and enjoy something than ever. I do try to finish at least 12 games a year but that's it.

My objective with my library is to have it be populated by great games.
My objective with those great games is to play through them.
My life, responsibilities, and obligations make achieving the first objective relatively easy and the second rather difficult. But still I try. :)

I haven't really thought about it. But, I want to play more of my games and get some backloggery out of the way, mainly. If I can play a few when I can, I'm very happy. Also, catching up on my curation reviews in several spots. I have not done many lately ... I joined another group (since they lowered the qualifications/prerequisites needed) where other folks can help "keep me honest" with rewards if we play our games, so... it's good motivation!

If I don't play, I have to be one of those sending out the rewards instead. Not that I don't want to, but it is based on a fun concept I really enjoyed in The QUIPS/Beard-topia groups. :D

My goal is to play all I can with rules:
-no new games before installed bofore reach 50% of objective averall
-Never give up unless 20 hours of games or unplayable games.
-No more than 50 games installed.
-I try to reach 50 games finished (100%) at the end of the year.

Last objective: finish at 100% all the 4 borderland's games :)

The difficulty is for games that you need multiplayer with no players on the game :(

My goal is to attend to every single game I own - doesn't have to beat, per se, I'm not going to force myself to play a game I end up not liking. Ideally that'll end up with at least a 95% completion percentage. I want to go as high as I can!

My goal evolves as I move along. Right now...

Basically, anything I have started, I am moving "to the right". What does that mean? On completionist.me we are given a handy chart that shows us all games we have played (with at least one achievement) and their percentage completed. I have broken games that will never be completed, but most are not. I have games that I ended up not liking all that much, or became too much of a grind. So I shelf them for a time, and then go back to move them one spot right (I am looking at you Siralim!). I usually set out a few goal games to move by the end of the month, since it's usually only a 10 percent increase, it's not too bad.

I am sitting at 601 perfects right now. I have 115 started. I do start new things still, especially when they interest me. I play a lot of really grindy games, so I put in a lot of shorter ones too to give myself some indication of progress. I am also playing 10+ games co-op with my partner, but as we live on different continents and have slightly different schedules, this can go very slowly. Then there are games that decide to add achievements later... and I can't be bothered to go back to one, and the other requires an expensive DLC.

As for my library, honestly, I add almost anything to it. I've found some terrible looking and sounding games to be good for mindless playing. Some receive updates later that make them better, and I have a few solely so I could add my own achievements of steam. I do card farm, which I do not "profit off of" I use it to craft a badge for every single game I own, at least once. Some games have cute emotes, which I never spoil beforehand, but will check after to see if I should try again. I use these emotes for profile decorating, chatting, and my list of perfects (mostly the hearts, cats, and raccoons.)

I suppose I should add that I play whatever looks interesting or enjoyable. I read reviews, look at what curators have to say, discussion posts, and screenshots. I try not to start early access games, but there are some that look too fun not to. The steam recommended is quite weird, so I haven't found use in that yet.

Get all the achievements.
Write all the reviews.

There was a meme with these descriptions but I can't find it anymore.
