Why they've never picked Spiderman as one of the Avengers?
It's always great (and absolutely recommended) to have a "real" job with a stable income.
But if you want to try something (not even fulltime) different and earn money online.. have you ever heard of CPA/PPD?
It's a legal way to earn some serious money online. You don't need an investment and it's not shady like 95% of the online monetizing methods :D
People that do it fulltime earn a few thousand dollars per month, working at home.
You can contact me on Steam if you got any questions :)

I realize you probably have a more narrow view of "creativity", but I have to throw in my two cents...
I think creativity is a vital component of a million different roles - everything from the obvious purely-artistic (self-employed artist, staff designer in print/online/games/whatever) to pretty much any form of engineering if you combine it with other skills and interests. For example, I'm no artist (or at least I haven't found a medium that I excel at), but I am extremely creative and use that professionally every day as a software/IT architect/leader. When we hire new people in IT, we are really less interested in their experience and skills than we are in their creative problem-solving skills, along with intellectual curiosity and smarts in general.
Anyways, long story short, I'd just encourage creative people to expand their idea of what it could mean to apply their creativity in the professional world...we need more creative people outside of the pure arts.
Now I'm done! Good luck!!! :)

I agree. We use creativity in various situations and I'm aware of that :) And I'm not saying it have to be an artistic job. I'd only wish it would be something that could help me fulfil my creativity potential :)
Thanks for an interesting response! :)

NO DONT SEND THEM YOUR CV!!!
I mean, how long did it take you to get to level 2???
Runs away.... ahaahaha
I'd give you real advice, but I have no idea what you like to do/are qualified to do
Comment has been collapsed.
I was Paramedic for example but I just want to do something I've never did before, cos my life has started to become a little too predictable and it's getting kinda boring, you know :) So that's not really important what I am qualified to do. I just wanna give a try to a new thing. I can always return to my old job if everything else will fail ;)
I registered here, entered a couple of giveaways and then I wasn't using SG for a long time. I returned with my first GA and that's when I really became a member of the site ;) That's why my level is so low after all this time :)

Er... My humor didn't work completely... I was playing off CV (Curriculum Vitae) and (Contribution Value)
If you know how to mix drinks, you could try that... be a bartender for a bit.
You could become bicycle(or car) courier.
You could become a tour guide.
I think being a paramedic would probably be more exciting that most jobs though.
If you have a bachelors degree, and are a native speaker of english you can get a tefl certificate and go teach english in a brand new country. :D
I'm out of ideas :D

+1 bartend and then when someone says, "surprise me" you can whip up something cool.

Yeah, I'm not a native english speaker so I get the idea with two meanings of CV but not the whole thing unfortunately.
But when I was reading it I laughed, just in case ;)
When I was a paramedic the most common patients were:
-drunk guys
-high guys
-people who were scratched during their football matches. something that serious
Really.

What's your education and job experience? We can't do much without that.

The industry needs some BALLS in the first place :P They could take some more risk and show us something innovative instead of giving us Call of Duty no. 54839. But you know - money ;)
And yes, I do have some ideas for new kind of games but who haven't? ;)

Well you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs, besides not all incidents have negative outcomes. Here comes the anecdote: my grandpa used to own a chemical company along with two other guys. These latter were asshole, exploited his superior knowledge and self-destructive tendency to work hard (that's a trait I didn't inherit, lol) and when it got to a point where these two would only show up at the plant once or twice a week he decided he had his share and quit. Not a week passed and without his supervision the main reactor blew up (overnight with no casualties, thankfully) due to a trivial mistake that would've been easily avoided my my grandfather's presence. The company went bankrupt immediately and the two former associates faced charges for negligence. My grandpa then got a phone call from a friend of his - also a chemist - who told him, "Hey Otto, I had heard you walked away from that company slamming the door, but gee, I didn't think you'd slam that hard!" (roughly translated that is).
Anecdote over, I can't resist telling anecdotes.

Well, in my previous job, I was making graphical drafts of kitchens/bathrooms for our customers. That counts as "creative" too I think, as the customers often didn't have an exact idea in mind and it was mostly up to me to come up with some visually pleasing compositions.
Might give this kind of job a shot, if you think that would be your cup of tea ;)

That's actually an interesting topic and you might end up helping me with it more than I am helping you.
There are a lot of creative professions but they are completely different from one another. Each one has its own set of required skills and thus can't be really compared. So it's difficult to narrow it down to a job that's just creative.
I was thinking like you as well, as my teachers told me I shouldn't waste my potential, whatever they were seeing, but I ended up learning and training to be a real estate agent and this is really not what I want to do the rest of my life.
Creative professions would be art director, graphic designer, artist (music, painting, drawing, illustration, writing), journalist, columnist, actor and the list just goes on and on. But as you see no job is like the other.
Sure, they all share the common subject of being a creative job, but they all require a different talent. You might have an overall creative drive, maybe even a talent for creative things, but you gotta be realistic about what you can do and what you can't do. Don't compare yourself to the masses.
I've gotten to know some people from some of these jobs and I realized that I can't compete with them. The only thing that made me think I was good at these was that the people I compared myself with had no interest nor talent in those and they grew up to be bankers, engineers, salesmen or carpenters, because those were their talents and hobbies they wanted to work with.
But I'm an overall bitter man and I don't want to waste your dreams just like that. I envy you for even having dreams and motivations, but keep in mind to put some realism in there or you will be disappointed.

First of all thanks for the response! To be honest I'm aware of all that what you're saying here and I don't expect much. The most important thing for me is to do. If I won't find my 'dream job' that's okay, I won't be complaining. I'll be happy I tried. And I'm sure that this experience will push me into something else, something interesting. Man, I spent to much time sitting, waiting and thinking and I won't do that anymore - whatever is going to happen will be better than just wasting time and I'd be happy I'm moving forward this time :) And realism for me is: You wanna do something? Do it. Why not? If you'll succeed good for you, if you'll fail, well... nothing really changed in your life. You're in the exact same place. If you think there's something wrong with this place remember that a few minutes ago you wanted to live here not even trying to change it. You wanted to live this life not even trying to change anything. :) I hope it's clear enough as I cannot find the words to describe it better. For now ;)
Discussing with you in real life could be just awesome :>

That's the spirit! Sitting around doing nothing will end in depression and from there on it will only spiral down, so it's good yu want to actively change your future. And quite frankly this is the only way to change it as some people think opportunities just come to them, waiting for them to be taken.
Have you thought about the time you want to invest in that dream? Doing an apprenticeship or maybe studying? You could work in an art supply store first, learning about the materials you are selling. Maybe a small boutique. One that doesn't sell children made shit, but actual designer clothing. Not talking about Louis Vuitton, but something more down to earth. Would depend on where you live tho as these stores are pretty rare.
Maybe you could slowly approach the creative workfield unless you already have a job. Then wait until you actually want what you wanna do.
Thanks. :)

I was seriously thinking about some other studies but it's a complicated thing for me right now. Luckily I have an awesome gf who helps me work on that :) I do some courses and I wanna do some more, though. Never heard about apprenticeship (no wonder cos there's nothing like that in my country - I googled it) But I could do little steps to achieve what I want if you want to ask me this, yes. I'm also trying to do as much as I can - for example I'm starting an Improv group with my friend and we're going to give some shows. If we'd do okay we could even do some Improv classes for other people. I'm also writing (as people call it, I call it struggling) a book and occasionally some short texts - people seem to like it and always encourage me to start a blog but it's not for me. But maybe I could make a use of it if I'd send it to some newspaper or some.

Something IT related, I'm (supposedly) teaching robotics this fall, but I haven't heard back from my supervisor about the schedule so I'm a bit anxious about it. Over the summer I taught math and writing, and I taught special ed for 3 years, but I want more tech-related things in my life.
Comment has been collapsed.
I was thinking about teaching some time ago but I'd probably be not the best teacher. So I always admire people who do this cos this not that easy as some people may think :) Did your supervisor answered to you? Would it be something you want to do or you're going to look for sth else in meantime? :)

Being a criminal is a pretty creative job I'd imagine. Also, please do share your qualifications.

Have you ever tried game designing? One of the most creative jobs you can get.
Comment has been collapsed.
Never tried but I thought about it. I should take some classes first though. Btw, a friend of mine is doing simple games on his own (what's simple for us, for him is a hard, long work) so I could ask him for a little help if I'd really like to start this career.

Better look for a "normal" job and be creative in your free time.
I got a Boardgame Store for 10 years and i loved to play before.
And now I see Boardgames a different way....
But if you look for a real cool job with much fun and clearance,
go to Pest Control.

Hi there, awesome SG community! :) Some of you already know it. I'm looking for a new job. I've found some interesting offers and I've sent there my CV. If you know a job where creativity is major factor you can leave your advice in the comment. Maybe there's something I haven't heard about yet but I would like to do :)
