if you think about it, begging itself could be considered a form of scamming. the beggar tries to get something out of exploiting someone else's compassion (well, depending on how he conducts the begging).

I look at it like this, people willing to embarrass themselves for a low chance of getting a free game - begging, taking something from people by tricking them - scamming.
The first are honest people with low self respect, the other are crooks and thieves with no conscience and absolutely no respect for others.
