Yes because you're not stupid enough to buy a product you think you'll have bad experience with. (unlike most people who buy the 25th Uplay game and still complaining about it)

I heard that people lost saves in the past because of Uplay so maybe that's the cause.

I lost my 20-30 hour saves in Borderlands 1 many many times (to the point that I don't even want to play it), and I haven't seen s**ton of negative reviews on it's steam page because of it.

"Anyway I don't think games should be judged or downrated based on the DRM it uses." and "I still refuse to play Dark Souls and GTA IV".
I think you "downrated" Gta IV and DS .
I have Gta IV and EFLC and I didn't encounter any problem registering/playing them on GFWL.

Nope I'm expressing my opinion on a forum, but I'm not spamming their store pages with "not recommended" reviews on Steam.

Uplay has always worked fine for me. I don't have any problems with Origin, Steam, or any other setup like that either. I do get annoyed with the ones that don't let me launch a game directly, but otherwise it works fine.

Well, I'm using Uplay mainly because Uplay product codes are way cheaper than the same game on Steam in my country. And no, never had any technical issues with it and just like you, I can't understand why people hate it.

I don't think i have had any problem with any DRM service(?) including issues with GFWL regarding Dark Souls and GTA IV.
I wouldn't be able to play Far Cry 3 if i didn't want to use Uplay...or BF3 on Origin..
All of my interfaces auto load and auto login, and my computer is good enough that i don't notice performance issues with idling programs like those.
Bottom line is if its a game i want to play, and the dollars are right, i could care less about which service it uses to run..

I had no problem using Origin... other than The Sims using its own launcher and not updating automatically...
But Uplay has problems updating games, playing online, losing saves in Splinter Cell... Took me a long time to get it to work fine. Painful is what it is.
I avoided games with GFWL other than Dark Souls so I can't say much about it. Other than that it sucks.

They've had few years to get it working, but it still isn't on the level that customers would expect it to be. If I buy a game, I want to install and play it immediately, not postpone it because their servers are shit and wont allow me to connect to them. They are trying to weed out the pirates, but the paying customer gets hurt and pirates don't even have to deal with the terrible DRM. Steam is here and it works hundred times better, why wont they just move the games to it and only problems will be with the game, not client or servers.

I have occasional problems with it but never whined about it. I totally understand its need of existence 'cuz having valve monopolize the whole digital game market with steam would be a risky idea.
"Let's put every game on Steam!", Steam users say. "We should have the freedom to not be forced by the DRM we don't want", they say. What abt the developers? Can they have their own saying of where they want their games to be on? In the end, it's about the money.

Honestly, it's incredibly difficult to see the fact that it has 3rd party DRM if you don't have Enhanced Steam. I just looked over it multiple times before I finally found where it actually stated that because it's not in a spot I would normally look. If it wasn't so hard to find, Enhanced Steam wouldn't add the blatant red warning to ensure people can see it.
And to be honest, I do feel it is worthy to point out in a review, especially if the DRM makes the game difficult to run. Just knowing it uses Uplay doesn't mean much if someone doesn't know much about Uplay.
I sure didn't buy either game on Steam because I'm not a fan of needing to run two clients to play a game and also because of the lack of achievements. Doesn't stop me from buying the games, I just bought them on my Xbox 360 instead since that and the PS3 don't have the stupid third party DRM requirement and have achievements/trophies. Only reason why I picked 360 was because I have a bigger hard drive for it than I do for my PS3.

I don't have any problem with it. I bought Farcry 3 and Blood Dragon Uplay keys from Amazon and never had any problem playing it.
As for GTA IV and GFWL, you do realize you can create an offline GFWL account and not have to login to play SP. And then there is this. You only need GFWL to play MP.

well, to be honest i agree with you regarding the drm, we shouldn't judge a game by its drm, but ubisoft has done some questionable choices regarding drm (looking at AC2s always connected drm) and they sure mess up often.
i have pretty much the whole AC series on uplay(bought physical disks and where added to it by linking them to the account), all bought when they came out, with dlc and everything, the games are there and fine but the mess they did with the dlcs is incredible. first they had problems sending keys for the season pass of ac3, then after i activated them and they updated uplay to link the dlcs to the account they didn't link any dlc to mine. i contacted support and was told they were working on it. it's been nearly a year and they are still not linked to my account. i do reopen a support ticket now and then, but keep getting the same answer. not to mention whenever i preordered they canceled my preorder and i had to make a second one, twice.

Now when I installed an SSD and reinstalled Uplay on HDD it doesn't detect my already installed games like Steam, and wants to download them again, I will have to figure out what to do.
Uplay is just annoying and stupid, but GFWL is truly worst, yesterday I tried to play GTA IV, so I had problems with Social Club, after with GFWL, after with the game itself not letting me change graphics, and for the last with Social Club Again.

yeah I almost never buy games right after the release, I wait a few weeks for reviews before I spend my money. I do own AC2 btw.

I mean sure it's a minor annoyance to log-in, register the game and then launch it, but Uplay never prevented me from actually playing the game. It's a similar experience to registering Dragon Age or Mass Effect on the Bioware site.
GFWL in comparison is a NIGHTMARE, I still refuse to play Dark Souls and GTA IV because of that. (to get Dark Souls to work took me literally 45-60 minutes.
Anyway I don't think games should be judged or downrated based on the DRM it uses, Ubisoft lets you know that you will have to install Uplay to play the game (if you use Enhanced Steam it even puts a humongous red banner notifying you).
It's annoying to see that users who made a choice as consumers to buy a game with Uplay DRM bashing the game itself on it's page and convincing people who'd enjoy the game nevertheless from buying it. (and there are amazing games using Uplay like Child of Light or the new game Valiant Hearts)
Anyway what do you think?
