To be fair, all of my choices can be regarded as top unis (top 20 UK), and this one is good, it's just not the one I REALLY want to go to. It's a really good uni, but the city isn't as great as Birmingham is, for example. But yeah, it's still alright. Thanks! :D

Congratulations! That kind of news is always awesome!

Then try do what I'm doing, I've applied to the same universities as my best friend, 5 choices actually. (Of course, you also have to make sure you are all happy to go for the same uni, in my case me and my mate have agreed on the 5 choices and they're advantageous for both of us).

Congratulations! So what's your absolute top choice uni? I'm at my second UK uni now and I'd be happy to answer any questions. A couple of tips that come to mind:
Social tip: everyone else is new and keen to make friends too, so make an effort to connect and suggest/organise things to do. You'll have some of the best friends of your life at uni!
work tip: if it's a choice between work and sleep, pick sleep. Unless it's really really important (ie, the coursework deadline is tomorrow). If you're tired, you'll work less well the next day and it just gets worse and worse.

I mean, if I could, I would go for Cambridge. :P
Realistically speaking, however, my top choice university would have to be University of Birmingham. I have attended an open day and both the university and the course look great. With Leicester, one of my best mates attended an open day there and persuaded me to also apply there, which has paid off I guess? :D
And yeah, I love sleep. So unless absolute deadline, sleep is love, sleep is life.

Congrats! I'm on my master's at Surrey and it has been nice so far. I got my bachelor's at my home country so I don't have any experience with that but I imagine it is similar. Try not to party so much that you miss deadlines/fall behind and try to learn some basic cooking in order to survive. Eh, that's it. You will make friends since everyone on their first year wants to connect with others on their first year etc. It's different with us old coots where we see each other at class and never meet again. XD

Don't count on them is what I'd say. I mean sure they might be willing to give a hand but... there is probably a price. |D Plus at that age they are probably about as equally useless as the men so... :p

So, today has been quite the day. I received my first reply since I applied for my course (Computer Science). I was just in maths lesson, casually doing some trigonometry as you do, and I felt a vibration coming from my pocket. Instinctively, I reached to grab my phone, assuming I was either getting raided on Clash of Clans or I received another crappy offer to enlarge my p---s or to get a free trial with Brazzers, but, to my surprise, it was from the University of Leicester (British uni, quite high rated and one of my preferred choice). At the start, I thought to myself (Damn, this better not be ''Hello Alin, it is with great sadness we have to inform you that we are unable to offer you a place...'' sort of email.)
However, when I opened up my email, all I see is 'Your University of Leicester Offer''. At that point, I was speechless. I wasn't sure how to react, I was just extremely happy and thought 'Damn, my first reply is an offer? GET IN!'. As you do, I stopped my maths teacher half-way through the lesson whilst she was solving a fairly complicated trig question and let the rest of my class know just how hyped I was.
Therefore, I thought it would be appropriate to share my happiness with the beautiful community of steamgifts and it's amazing members. Also, if you are a UK university student or even better, a University of Leicester student, please let me know how stuff is and some of the things I should expect.
Thanks for reading this, and here's a little something, thanks for taking some time of out of your lifespan to experience my joy.
Sorry it's not much, but my budget is so meeeeh right now.
EDIT: I did just realise I might be a little stupid. Technically speaking, I have only received an offer that I still have to match in summer with my exam results. So, technically speaking I have not really been accepted, but personally, as I know myself, I know there is no way I won't match that offer based on my work, hence why I'm already considering myself accepted (I also intend to get higher than the ABB offer, just in case Birmingham get back to me :D)
