Hello everyone!

I hope you are reading this post in good health.

My brother and I have been playing quite a few story based games together, but we find we are running out of material lately.
So I turn to you, in search of potential candidates for continued cooperative conquest.

Available systems are, (potentially obviously) a PC, WiiU, Wii, Gamecube, PS4, PS3, PS2.
Games that have local co-op on the same device are strongly encouraged, but necessarily required.

To give you an idea of our tastes, here are some of the games we have played (In no particular order):
Resident Evil 5, 6, and Revelations 2
Dead Space 3
Gears of War 1-4
Halo 1-3 + R + O
Resistance 1-3
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 1 + 2
Champions of Norrath 1 + 2
Borderlands 1, 2, and P
Portal 2
Divinity Original Sin 1 + 2
Timesplitters 1-3
Diablo 2 + 3
Torchlight 2
Tales Of (S, A, V, X, probably more)

Which I guess when you summarize it looks like first person/third person shooters and hack n slash RPG's, at least as far as split screen/same screen cooperative games go.
Also games we definitely want games that have a defined end point. So we do play Warframe and Path of Exile for example, but we would actually like recommendations along the lines of a game that has a final boss.

I think that's everything, of course feel free to ask me any questions and a giveaway for your troubles:

Gauntlet
Blue Estate
Broforce
Chariot
Castle Crashers
Cain and Lynch
Army of two (not on PC)
Livelock
Lara Croft and the... (series)
Mercenary Kings
Moon Hunters
Rampage Knights
Renegade Ops

Maybe some are not Co-op, but those are some from my co-op library section.
Also, try using the search, there are a lot of similar threads where you can find more ideas.

On a big screen it's not that bad.

I agree that it wad done poorly. I remember now having noticed that. The issue is compounded by being able to get attacked from out of bounds of the screen

I agree we decided not to beat Mercenary Kings partially because of that, but for other reasons as well.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestions.

We've played a lot of these too lol. We've been doing this for a couple of months now which is why the well is running dry, but the ones we have not tried from your list that we will look into are Cain and Lynch, Army of two, Livelock, and Blue Estate. Thanks again!

Oh yeah we got all of those covered as well, except for debatably Killing Floor 1 and 2 which we didn't really like for some reason.

Edit: Thanks for your suggestions!

Dawn of War II should be a good one.

I didn't realize this even had coop.

You can go through the whole campaign that way? It's not certain missions like Starcraft 2?
Can you do that in Dawn of War 3?

Edit: Also thanks!

You can play through the whole campaign in co-op. Never played DoW3 so I don't have an answer for the last question.

From the top of my head because I'm too tired to open my coop list:
Dying Light
Middle Earth: War in the North
Hunted: The Demons Forge
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Warhammer Vermintide
Warhammer 40k: Kill Team

Middle Earth seems like a great idea and also reminded me of those old Lord of the Rings beat em ups, thank you!

I believe we have played everything else on that list except Hunted, but I'll look into it. It's hard to keep track of everything across multiple consoles/PC's. Thanks again!

Ya know I totally forgot about Dynasty Warriors. That means we could do Hyrule Warriors too.

I forgot they made a Mortal Kombat beat em up also, we've been going through quite a bit of those like Double Dragon etc.

Thank you very much!

We have gone through Salt and Sanctuary and both Magickas, both excellent games by the way. Full Metal Furies looks excellent and we both did love Rogue Legacy which I see made the game.

I'll add it to the list, thanks!

Already some great suggestions, I'd add:
A Way Out (an EA game)
Cuphead
Castle Crashers

Not your norm style but might like We Were Here, is a f2p (online) puzzle co-op. You use a walkie talkie to solve a puzzle that you can each only see one half of.

Left 4 Dead 2 and Serious Sam 3 also has split screen if you don't mind that kinda thing with FPS.

A Way Out seems perfect! Thank you.

Saints Row series as well as the Lego games come to mind. Lego games have native split screen on PC.

Elder Scrolls Online and Destiny 2 which are superb :)

Both solid games, but we're trying to go through a story/campaign that was built for 1-4 people instead of a game built for a ton of people that happens to have a story questline in it.

We might check them out as we get further down the barrel so to speak.

Thanks for the suggestion!

If you're into RTS you can play Red Alert 3 campaign as a co-op
Also, there is Sniper Elite Series (Zombie ones)
Conan Exile (Playing it co-op is really fun)
Ghost Recon Wildlands (imo base game is meh but DLC's are awesome it might remind you RE6 yet it's repetitive so you may get bored easily so you may not see it's end :D)

Never knew Red Alert had co-op.
I think we will give Sniper Elite a look for sure.

Thank you!

Oh yeah I can't believe I didn't think of Splinter Cell. We could do Conviction and the previous games too.

We have done a bit of Gungeon, but trying to avoid Roguelikes, thank you!
