You could not be more off. The UFC is an organisation, not a sport. Or do you equivalent basketball to NBA, american football to NFL, baseball to MLB? "Yo, let's go outside and play some NBA!" - "Nah, I'd rather play some NFL today."

The proper term would be MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), not UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). The first is a sport, while the second is a league of MMA.

More like a street-brawl in a confined space.. they don't even have the space to wrestle or even throw a kick, I wouldn't call that MMA.
