Anyone know what is up with the support teams here? I have had a ticket pending for 2 weeks now that is still pending. Are they always this slow?

Comment has been collapsed.

They are slow with things that are not high priority. If it's a re-roll request, it is fast. If it is basically anything else, it will take quite a while, maybe months.

EDIT: Okay, apparently it's not fast. Well when I was an active member here, it was. So.

Yeah, everything is great! It's been very busy lately. Work has been really busy because of the holidays, but I still spend most of my time gaming with my boyfriend :3 He has been upgrading my computer and I finally have a good enough computer to stream, so I have been doing that as well. Oh and I got summoned for Jury Duty, and my term started today. Thankfully I didn't have to go in today, but i have to call every day to see if I have to go in and I hope I never will xD I have never been in a court and I do not want that to change.

LOL! I got called.. six month term. Thought I knew when I had to show up based on the website. Apparently I went to the wrong court. Three good things 1) they actually give you at least a week's notice unlike the other court where you check every Friday to see if you have to show up Monday, 2) they rarely have any trials and 3) no current trials pending.... plus if I get called in less than three years I get a free pass... SWEET!

Oh boy, that sounds fun XD So far, I don't have to go in. It told me to call next Tuesday to check for that week.I would just really rather not go. Ever. I'd have to miss work, I'd be losing money, I'd have to drive an hour away each time, and the compensation they give sucks ass. xD

Yeah, I am a contractor so if I don't work, I don't get paid - er, well the payment for jury duty isn't even minimum wage :-p

I have been on juries in the past - it really isn't fun although I do have a much better understanding of the system now. All I can say is, try not to be arrested - ever.

rerolls used to be fast but not anymore. For a month or two they take long as well - like few days up to over a week now. And I'm not just talking about few rerolls I've had in this time, but I also won quite a few GAs seeing "Ended X Days Ago" "Ended 1 Week Ago" etc, while comments on GA agreeing to reroll were the same day as GA ended.

Pretty sure he meant they have a "life", which is true considering the amount of people work as a support against amount of tickets they get to deal with + christmas, real life stuff, job, and probably kids and family.

No, there are not always that slow.

It depends on the category of your ticket, as they have different priorities.
Take a look at roles. If support can handle your request, it should be done quicker than tickets that can only be done by moderators.
If only the admin can do what you have requested, you are kind of out of luck ...

Mine is asking to take care of a giveaway I won that was region locked so I couldn't accept it. Wanted them to delete it so they could repost it or maybe reroll it with the proper restrictions on it or something.

Not wanting to make it as received and get hit with it. Accepted it anyways and did that once a year or so ago when they first region locked stuff because I didn't want the other guy to get hit with it.

But also not wanting to make it as not received and get him in trouble for it because the guy legitimately tried to give me a copy and all.

They won't delete or re-roll a giveaway unless the giveaway creator requests it be done.
Just leave it unmarked and let the creator know it has to be re-rolled. That's all you can do.

Will see what I can do, last I checked he was suspended, figure because of another region locked giveaway. But better than nothing.

My point was that it's not on you as long as you let the creator know it needs re-rolling, so don't worry about it. :3

Actually, it should be the GA creator who asks the support. They should take a screenshot of your agreement to delete/re-roll or link to your comment in the GA. Not sure if your ticket won't be just closed without a reply... Sorry about all that :)

You have a week to activate any won game which is plenty of time. The rule that you have to activate the game on the account which won it has been in place for as long as I've been here (so more than 4 years) and is to make the system fairer for everyone

Permalink

Thats actually so funny.
You say you do not have like 1min time in seven days to activate a game, but support is supposed to have 24 hours a day for solving your requests?
If there are any lazy idiots around, its not support. And please watch your manners.

  1. You're not having access to another PC with steam? Family, Friends, neighbours?
  2. I assume from your answer, that you have a mobile device. Than you can at least log into SG or add people on steam and tell them the situation. A GA creator CAN ask for a reroll after seven days. If you tell him you are away/having problems for a few more days, noone I know would not wait.

If your PC is stucked for >7 days on a regular basis I would get it checked anyways.

You can't get banned for not activating the game (as long as you don't mark it as received). The creator can simply ask for a re-roll after a week.

Support has been fast for me. I opened 8 tickets in the last 3 weeks 7xUser reports and 1xRequest new winner and all have been answered/solved. Also they have a lot of tickets so it takes time. Also for user reports many users have already been reported and have been served punishment.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's not really good for reroll tickets. If they have been pending for 7+ days, the sender can be a rule breaker for not intentionally sending gifts, if the ticket was due to be declined which wouldn't be known at the time. It's potentially a seed for drama.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Some of my reroll tickets took more than 7 days, 2 out of 3 marked it as not received (one was already suspended). Of those one was a guaranteed reroll so I wasnt worried about it (latest infraction within a month), the other person posted hours after giveaway ended asking for their key ( :( ). I explained to them that I had made a ticket because of their unactivated win. Once I got "suspension already served" message from staff, I sent the key... and then had to notify my winner next day to change feedback (he had already played the game for more than an hour).

My default for public giveaways was lv2, now I bumped it to lv3 with a disclaimer. For some of the more desired games, its 7 or 8... also with a disclaimer because I have had a reroll even at that level.

There is enough apathy in me to deal with drama, besides if I have already made a reroll ticket, I can always explain to the staff that this is why I didnt send the key in the right time.

I see were you're going with choosing a higher level for public giveaways but unfortunately out of my own public giveaway experiences I can say that choosing a higher level for public giveaways isn't a fail-safe.

That's one of the reasons I transitioned most of my public giveaways to level 2 SGTools giveaways.

I had a similar case like yours (winner with multiple wins and non-activations) who asked why I had not sent the key yet. Upon telling him I had requested a re-roll ticket because of his infractions I got laughed at and blacklisted by this nice person. Of course support refused to re-roll. Well, I did not send the game, my first "real" not received ever on this site.

Nothing of this would have happened if re-roll tickets were dealt with instantly like they used to. Taking up several days for them makes it a nuissance to create giveaways, which is a shame.

Permalink

I went and read the conversation. Well, judging from the amount of multiple wins, he might not be a problem in future... permanently.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, he's still roaming around freely with all these, support didn't care and even told me to send them the game. They told me that they can understand that I would not like to send the game, but they couldn't re-roll, although I was asking for a re-roll based upon "inappropriate behaviour". His behaviour wasn't inappropriate enough for support to do anything at all.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The last double-win was over half year old by that point. Frankly, it was expected that support will reject it, usually people get busted in that time frame, especially with that many wins.
The rest, well… well, it is better if I don't comment on it.

My case is more like that of eeev above. The winner said something offending in reply to me then it ended up with mutual blacklist. (The ticket was accepted at that time.) I could do level 0 giveaways with the help of reroll tickets even after that. But for now, I'm not so willing.

There are a few options we can consider, which are to set higher level on it as you said, to move to private giveaways, or to turn a blind eye to the past rule breaks of the winner.
