I was never disappointed in any Bethesda game yet but I never played Fallout 76:-)
I agree with the smart move comment, this decision will make me pick some missed Bethesda games during next sale and as I liked rage 2 I might pick it up (well, depends which will have better reviews after release, rage 2 or plague tale: innocence)

Can we please not pretend that Bethesda is making some sort of profound statement towards PC gaming here? They are not. They are looking at their bottom line and making the decision that gets them more money.
If Epic had offered them enough money -- i.e. more than Bethesda thought they could make on Steam -- to be exclusive, they would have signed an exclusivity deal in about 3.5 seconds.

It's not hard to imagine that they tried to do a deal with Epic but their games didn't meet Epic's quality standard :)

Don't even think it's that.
"Sir, we're just not competant enough to make a launcher."
"Back to Steam then?"
"Guess so. Hey... we're being cheered at. We must be the only company cheered on for being absolutely skill-less."
"Son, this is Bethesda. That's what we do."

ok, I loved Rage 1.
I loved many Bethesda games in the past, but i not wanted to buy games elsewhere than steam, not just because my friends are here ....
Because of screenshot, community, mods etc support is outstanding.
Best modern Fallout game still from Obsidian tho:-) sorry, new vegas is best.
This move now almost want me to preorder Rage2, but I already purchased one a month ago with 25th April release date and as it is a grand strategy game I am not sure I'll be done with it already at that datum.
Additionally, it is on the same day as A Plague Tale: Innocence and now not sure which to get even if I'll be done with Imperator Rome.
But I am sure Bethesda had a deal with valve about a lower cut, that is why this decision was made.

Now the question is will it also require a Bethesda Store account that you have to log in every time you want to play the games, like what Ubisoft (UPlay), Rockstar (Social Club), and SquareEnix do?

I love that you put Fallout 76 and Rage 2 in the title, but somehow missed the best and most important games in their line up, like Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein Youngblood.

Cool, finally some good news from the gaming front.

I dont think Fallout 76 will have better luck on steam tho, from what i hear and see the game is just bad

Bethesda will surely make some money with it being on Steam though as there are many collectors.
