I'm trying to find some people here to answer and find answers to the whole idea of "Value"

In my last discussion, I was trying to find a trade value for the game "Don't starve together" (NOT A TRADE REQUEST!)

I just want to know what values to you and why?

Here is an example; I would like to trade game X with game Y. To my eyes, the game X is super fun and awesome. Gladly I have a copy of game X so I want to trade it with game Y because I heard good stuff from it. Sadly I can't because the game X came from a 1$ bundle and Y was never in a bundle even though both games cost almost the same in Steam and have very positive reviews.

Another example; You have this game X and you want the game Y. Doing your research you find that your game "X" is far much cheaper in some websites like G2A or Steam. Therefore the value of the game you have is not worth anything near the game "Y".

So yeah I know about the tiers from humble, bundle star (fantastica now...eww), I know about G2A and its weird prices.

I yes understand price value from where it was bought and all of that but i mostly value a game in its gameplay, story, fun, etc. Should not games be valued like that?

So what do you guys suggest about these things? Do you rather trade depending on price value OR value to games that matter to you?
Just post your ideas and such.

I guess I took the forum "suggestions" a bit too literal. Hope I don't get banned though.

No you won't, it shouldn't be this harsh... but yeah General or Off-Topic maybe better options :)

That was super helpful.
Can you tell me how much you'd put in the value of a certain game that you like? Would be good if the game was a game you wanted.

OH, and how you'd deal with this.

Value to games that matter to you but to a reasonable trade . Dont expect people trading a boring 59,99€ games for a good 29,99 € games :D

sometime the real currency still hold value

Oh no. I also don't expect a trade for the opposite thing (A good game for 59$ for a boring 29$).
Yeah, the currency still holds value, but many times the game holds far more value. Don't you think so?

I generally use the lowest price to track the game "value".
Is the any deal and Enhanced Steam are quite useful for that.

i mostly value a game in its gameplay, story, fun, etc.

well, you could always buy $60 AAA releases and trade them for $1 bundles. no one is gonna stop you if you think the bundled game is better and more fun, like trading Borderlands 1 for Call of Duty WW2.

just don't expect people to do the same. each game has a market value either from bundle sites, g2a, or the steam store, and traders will always use those prices.

People usually trade by value, ($1-$60) I think. Personally, I'm hording games I like and I wont give them away unless I think that person deserves it.

HAHAHAHA I like you already.

I literarely had the same law for my old GBA games. I gave Pokemon red rather than selling it.
