Prince Rogers Nelson, the icon known to the world simply as Prince, has died, TMZ reports. He was found this morning at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. He was 57 years old. Last week, Prince had been on a flight home from Atlanta when his pilot was forced to make an emergency landing to take Prince to the hospital. A representative said he had the flu.

Born in Minneapolis, the iconic musician released 39 studio albums throughout his prolific career, including two in 2015: HITNRUN Phase One and Two. His most iconic release may be 1984's Purple Rain, as well as the film of the same name. Pitchfork named the title track the best song of the 1980s.

As son of Minnesota myself, I feel I should say something. But I honestly never listened to his music much. May he rest in peace.

Oh no ! The first record I ever bought from him was the vinyl record of the Batman soundtrack, so I guess it was in 1989.

You know you're getting old when you often ask your wife about some celebrities "is he still alive ?"

Actually surprisingly, my dad is 10 years older than my mom and its strange to imagine my dad being 20 and my mom being 10 O.o

Still, a lot better than the thought of them having sex. Oops, I said too much.

Don't think there's much clean on the Internet these days. Hope I didn't spoil the safe haven of SG too much.

Future stories will be told of our generation...
...the year was 2016, the Internet was a vile and creepy place, where trolls once plagued every comment, and pop-up ads were ruthless in their pursuit of signing you up for Russian or Asian brides. :P

Not just Youtube specifically, you also can't find his music on Spotify, Apple Music, ....
The only digital platform where it's officially available is Tidal, the service owned by Jay-Z, because it's the only one he felt was fair with royalties.

I'm not a huge fan of his music (I do like some of it), but he was an absolutely brilliant musician and song-writer.
The guy played (and played well) 17 instruments, if I recall correctly. O.o
Rest in peace. :(

I'm sincerely saddened by this. Prince is and always will be one of my favorite musicians. I purchased one of his purple sequence jackets from his earliest tours. This is heartbreaking. What a talent and gift to the world. May he and his friends and family find peace and happiness. <3

I was listening to While my guitar gently weeps when I saw the comments about his death. Normally, I am not moved by such events, but it is unexpected since Prince was only 57... I really wanted to see him performing live - eh!
