I have no idea why there are (so many) puzzles and what it is all about but I can live with it...just tell me: Why do a lot of puzzle creators not mention the game they are actually giving away? Why shouldn't I know if it is even worth solving?

I usually hint at what it is I am giving away.

Hmm I guess that people thinking if it is "worth solving" are exactly those who I want to filter out of my puzzles when not naming the reward. I, for one, want my puzzles mostly to be enjoyed on their own merit and a giveaway is a possible bonus. Takes an effort to prepare a puzzle, believe it or not, so if someone can't be bothered to solve it then well, they should not bother indeed and just carry on.

Besides mah puzzles tend to be on the more difficult side so regardless of the final reward they "may not be worth it" unless you actually enjoy solving puzzles just for the heck of it.

You can also look at it as a bit of a gamble - usually there's not many people on puzzle giveaways so if even more are filtered out of something you actually may want, it is actually better for you if you do like them puzzles :>

I've solved 3 or 4 puzzles and all were games I already own, not motivating at all if you ask me. ;)

People, there are always public giveaways for those who don't like puzzles.

Well that's exactly my point :3 I don't want the reward to be the main motivating factor. It can even have potential to breed cheaters who can't solve on their own and look for outside help.

I am personally happy to have solved a puzzle and I don't mind if I have it. I already won. Had fun doing the puzzle.

+1

Puzzles are fun on their own. If you don't like them, just skip them.

I love the puzzles! Actually, I probably enter less than half of the giveaways for puzzles I solve. I enjoy the act of solving itself, and if there happens to be a game giveaway I want to enter at the end, it's a bonus.

This site is FILLED with public giveaways. If you don't like solving puzzles, don't. Nobody is forcing you.
