A long time ago, back when DST first came out. Decided I'd trade my extra copy, got jipped by going first in a trade for Oblivion. I'm thankful it wasn't an expensive game, stayed off the Klei forums ever since though.

I decided to self study how to see a scam because of it though and ever since I've avoided most of them. Though I've unfortunately fallen for quite a few Kickstarters.

Well if you get your name in the game's credits it can't be a scam right?

On eBay, way back, buying a too-good-to-be-true Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Luckily I was one of like thousands of people, so both Paypal and eBay took it very seriously and we all got our money back shortly after.

I can honestly say: No, never. I'm extremely paranoid and suspicious of anything or anyone, which in this case can have its upsides too I guess xD

A few years ago somebody offered me a GTA V steam inventory gift for a Dead by Daylight key which I thought was too good to be true but I took a chance anyway. He sent me the gift, I accepted, and then the next day he revoked the gift.

I should have told him to send it to me through a trade window so he wouldn't be able to revoke it but it probably wouldn't have mattered because he would have done a chargeback most likely.

Yes, I bought Vampire: The Masquerade® - Bloodlines™ 2
I've been waiting for the release of this game for more than three years, what is it if not a scam? xD

Yes. I almost lost this account but believe me the whole scam looked so real...
But Thankfully I reached steam support and they got my account back (Scammer changed all my email, phone, password, even the username)

Can send screenshots here if anyone interested :D

Yeah, my first trade on steamtrades about 10 years ago, it was such an occasion. I trusted someone who had an account without positive or negative rep at all, went first, he took the key and never replied afterwards, even changed his name so I was unable to find him.
It was a game that I was not interested in anyway so its not such a big loss, but it taught me the importance of the reputation-system on the site. And more generally to never trust anyone on the internet again and act more like I do IRL.

Scammed? No, not yet at least. Hacked? Multiple times :( Lost my first email that way and and my first PSN account with a bunch of games on it. At least it gave me a good lesson for password security for the future.
