According to Steam I clocked 11 hours into Remember Me. note that I first idled the games for cards, so it's probably more like 7 hours
It takes a while to get the hang of the mechanics, and the story is very good, but there's only so long you can forgive the lackluster gameplay before giving up

7-10 hours. I want to see if the games will get any better.

I can completely understand the scenario you are describing. I put close to 1000 hours into Awesomenauts and a few years ago it was one of my favorite games to play with friends. Unfortunately the "burst" element of the game has become so strong that any sort of latency over 100 ms between players makes the game very difficult to play because you are taking such high amounts of damage from various sources (its a MOBA). I have since changed my review because I no longer recommend a game I used to love playing. I have close to 70 friends in my steam account related to this game and about 5 of them play it regularly anymore because of the changes over time.

An update ruined the free to play players. :(

I put 260 long & tedious hours into Tom Clancy's The Division. 230 more hours than I probably would've played it for. Why? Because a friend bought it for me so I would play it with him. I think I gave that game a negative review after 50-60 hours or so.

I've noticed that some folks with hundreds or thousands of hours of playtime in games will write negative review about game or go on a forum and complain about 'x' game. I think there are some good reasons for this. Maybe they did enjoy the game before and then a update ruined it or maybe they forced themselves to finish it so they could write a full review.
I don't understand how folks can keep continuing to play a game they hate or dislike though.
So my question is how much time will you invest in a game you aren't enjoying before you move on to something else?
