It does not affect keys.

EA shuts down their keyless redemption system, which they used to sell singular games through third party stores since some time.
Only those will stop working.

So what does this mean for titles like Dead Space 1 and other items purchased through steam that use a key but verify via origin's service (like the old Dead Space 2 issue that cropped up a while ago eg.: https://steamcommunity.com/app/47780/discussions/0/3109142236156640742/ )?

Wow! This must suck for everyone whose unaware of this. Could this mean they'll start supplying Steam keys for EA Games via third party stores? If this is true I'm in....😏😏 hehe boi

I fear they'll do what Ubisoft did with Uplay account linking on platforms like Fanatical. Makes a lot of sense to kill 3rd party selling/trading game keys but would make gifting games harder.

THATS why they say to install on origin. what they are saying there is to avoid disapointment of buying from a digital store and having the key declined. ITS ONLY AFFECTING NUMEROUS DIGITAL STORES
