Overwhelmingly positive hmmm... is it just me or does this seem a bit undeserved? Not that it's a bad game but I feel there are a lot of better games with far worse "score". Fitting for mass consumption I guess

I think it's cause it was the first popular game in this format. When it came out it really felt like something new and great.

Sounds plausible. I played it a bit on my tablet but for some reason, it never grabbed my attention enough for me to finish the game.

It has a great story, but as a game it is fairly bare. There's very little interaction from the user beside picking a response and occasionally moving a character within a limited area. So yes, a bit "undeserved."

Yeah, maybe it's just not for me. I did some testing way back and it didn't seem to matter what I choose to do in the "game". The interactive parts seemed a bit contrived as well. Maybe would have worked better as a VN for me
