I think a scammer might be trying to 'impersonate' your name and avatar.
Get the 'scammer' Steam ID from KingJZ's Steam Profile on this discussion https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/TtS7z/also-got-my-first-impersonator-now
it takes you to a 'private' Steam account with your name (Mohsin) and picture but your real account (linked from SG) has a different user name.

Thank you very much for informing me. I'm able to retrieve the scammers profile. My steam name has been cloudy since long and never private. I have open a thread about it and mentioned him on my profile page too with complete data from steamrep. Looking at his profile i found out that its the same id constantly changing his steam user name to impersonate many high reputed users here. Steamrep has 5 reports of this id with different users impersonation. Another user has informed me that he already got scammed by him using my name. im trying to make more people aware of this scammer hopefully no more users will get scammed.

Glad to help; if someone was trying to impersonate me, I would want to know.
When I saw KingJZ's 'Some is impersonating me' thread, I was thinking "I wondered if the scammer is trying to 'be' someone else", and I followed the Steam ID listed on KingJZ's profile and saw your name (Mohsin), and I immediately thought "No, that's not him. I've read enough of his posts to know he's too cool of a guy to do something like that. I need to let him know he's the next scam victim". I remembered reading one of your posts in the last day or so, so I started searching for you. After about 20 minutes I found your post above.
If we all take the time to 'lookout' for each other, SG can (hopefully) stay the great site it is.

I'm really getting tired of the definitive collections. Sounds like a money grab again!

They're nice for people who don't own the game yet, but the least they could do is give it for free to the people who already own the original game ._.

True. And hey, developers have to eat too. Seems a bit like paying for an HD textures mod, though.

Well, Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition was given for free for previous Divinity: Original Sin original owners, and that wasn't "just a remaster"... and that's just another reason to love Larian Studios, and boycott lame cashgrabs like this one.

Also, money goes to publishers (Deep Silver), not to the Developers, which usually will get paid regardless of sales, depending on the contract (which is usually how big publishers do, specially when they own a franchise and just hire some studio to develop the game).

But the success of said remaster will affect the chance of the developers getting to make another game with that publisher, which means more funding from said publisher, which leads to the developers getting to eat. Probably not in this case, as Techland's been doing its own thing lately.

EDIT: I'm also kinda talking out of my ass. I have little idea of how this works.

Wasteland 2: Director's Cut was also given for free for all owners of Wasteland 2 :P

Well, regardless of that, Deep Silver already announced and invested quite a bit on Dead Island 2, which they held back putting it on hold until further notice, probably because of Dying Light, as we all speculate.

Probably the remasters are directed to the current gen of consoles, much like all others, and they just make it available for PC users as well as a bonus. I have no clue how effective that is in terms of sales, but I doubt it costs them much to "port" these remasters to PC.

Is Techland making Dead Island 2? If I recall the developers of that has been switched a few times.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, not ever Techland. I implied "because of Dying Light" regarding that it'd be a competitor, and would probably be inferior in many ways.

Dead Island 2 was being developed originally by Yager Development, and now is being developed by Sumo Digital.

Deep Silver cut their relations with Techland, which then proceeded to develop both Dying Light and Hellraid (curently on hold) on their own, with no external publisher/resources. And I really do hope every single great developer like them do that!

That's certainly what I hope for Arrowhead Studios, for example.

I don't have much love for publishers, as usually they're the ones that should take the blame. Even Paradox Studios, which I love in many ways, dropped the support on a few titles too soon.

Ah, I know what Techland is working on right now. I'm really stoked for Hellraid, hoping for them to be done with Dying Light soon :P

Thanks for shedding light on these things for me! I'm happy that Techland is doing good, Dying Light ended up fantastic, and Hellraid looks and sounds like the perfect game for me.

I think the most interesting definite edition would be the Van Helsing: Final cut where they combine all 3 games and also free if you own all 3 games by redeeming it in their website.

Not worth it. But I'll probably buy it either way. I don't like the idea of owning a game when there's an "upgraded" version of it.

I guess you own dead island already? If so it isn't really worth it, on the other hand it's only €3 for the game.

As much as I loved the games, and think the updated graphics are nice... I don't really think it's worth it. Might be good if you don't already own the games, but then again you're not getting the discount if you don't own them (unless you have someone buy them for you). Just seems like a cash grab to me. I don't think I'll be getting them.

I know this was from weeks ago, but someone just bumped this thread and I happened to see this. Thanks for this helpful post, Muiiins Mullins! I haven't played Dying Light yet, but owning it was enough of a disincentive not to get the bundle with Dead Island.

Also, dat gif... made my morning. :D

I really can't get myself to like these ''Definitive Editions'' of games. You're paying pretty much for the same game again but with shiny graphics and less bugs, bugs which should have been patched in the previous games for free.

anyone can explain what is describe on store :
Seamless Coop Multiplayer: Collaborate with your friends, live through a story of the struggle for survival in a world gone mad
what is seamless coop multiplayer mean?... mean its coop like borderlands 2?... guest can achieve progress from host?... or?...

You're playing, even alone, and when you reach an area where another player is (in their own match), it says something like "press X to join John Doe", and you're set on multiplayer in "an instant", joining his game on where you're standing. Something like that, as far as I can remember.

You can choose wheter you allow this to happen on your games as well. It's a better way to allow people playing to join other games without having to rely on a lobby or something only, specially when they're actually distant from each other, or doing separate things.
