For one, they specifically go out of their way to make the script mimic a person so it is not detected which means that almost all of them using it knew they were doing wrong and understand why they were banned. And two, they are too lazy to manually enter giveaways, they probably don't want to spend the time creating a thread here and talking with people. Creating a thread here will not get them a +1 on their Steam account and that is all they seem to care about. Also, they probably read the SG page that was linked on the thread created on the autojoin group discussions after they were suspended and realized they would be blacklisted by a lot of people if they bring attention to themselves.

I do not miss them at all. If they are coming we might need an extra category, so I can happily ignore them

Maybe they already knew the risks, were bot accounts, or didn't care too much because it wasn't a permanent suspension. Looking at the possible wait time of 1 week for a mod to review a ticket, the suspension would be over by then. I didn't know it was only a 1 week suspension though, light first tap?
Not a fan of VRs yet, maybe if it gets better movement controls and less nausea inducing.

I've seen a few permanent ones and can only assume they are based on repeated auto-join use or that the user said they want to be perma suspended if they are not allowed to auto join.

Autojoiners seem to work on a 1-week schedule to maximize profits: sync, come back after 1 week to collect loot, sync again, rinse and repeat.
I bet most of them didn't even notice the "forced vacation", if it happened during the period between the two syncs.
