repeat?
example:
i sell my duplicate weapons for 2x scrap metal. with this 2 scrap metal i will buy 2 weapons -> profit?
or i'm a totally dumb? xD

You sell 1 (one) weaon for 1 scrap or 2 weapons directly.
If you traded for scrap, you try to find a scrap banker who trades you 2 weapons for your 1 scrap.
Now you've turned 1 weapon into 2 weapons.
Repeat until your backpack is as valuable as that of gonkretep :P
But note: it may take a while until you find a buyer for your 1 weapon, because there are a lot of traders out there, trying to do the same ;)

so the profit is only "have a lot of weapons"? not crafting refined metal or others? there is any trader who exchange game or others with tf2 items? i see trader only accept tf2 keys, but i can't obtain key without shop?

After you've got enough weapons, you can craft them to scrap -> reclaimed -> refined (18 weapons = 1 Refined).
After you have enough metal, you can trade the metal for keys (you need about 5.33 Refined for 1 key).
So it's possible to trade your way up and after some point trade your stuff for games, but you'll probably earn more money mowing your neighbours lawn.

I'm assuming you gave the elis hat to someone , because you got frying pan + you got l4d2 in your library
You can sell frying for like 0.37 ref , which is around 15~20 cents I think

And 1 rec is 1/3 of a refined, so 50/3 = 16.666.
So yeah, it is 15-20.

You typically earn 8 or so weapons each week, along with a crate or two. Every 2 weapons can be smelted into a scrap metal. 3 scrap metals can be smelted into a reclaimed metal. 3 reclaimed metals can be smelted into a refined metal. Refined metals are the typical TF2 currency. 8 weapons = 0.44 of a refined metal. Earning refined metals by yourself can be a very long and tedious process.
Every now and then you can also get a rare drop instead of your typical weapon or crate. This could be a hat, a tool, a salvaged crate, etc. These tend to vary in terms of value, with most hats and decals only worth a bit more than a refined each.
3 refined metals can be crafted into a random hat, though this is often considered to be a bad use of refined metals since many hats are worth much less than 3 refined metals. Crafting metals into hats is a gamble, it only pays off with certain rare hats that have a high value. If you're looking for one specific hat, use one of the many tf2 pricing sites (such as backpack.tf) to see what the expected value for it is, and then look around on trade sites (such as TF2outpost) to trade for that item.
The really rare items are Unusuals and these are only obtained from opening crates with a key. These vary greatly in price as well, as some unusuals are worth upwards of hundreds or even thousands of dollars whereas others are only worth 20-30 dollars. Opening crates in search of an unusual is a gamble as well, as it's a very low chance to get one (I believe the drop rate is 1%)
I'm still quite new to the whole TF2 economy, and I'm sure there are plenty of things I've omitted that can prove to be valuable information. Hopefully this is enough to get you started though.

ty :D so the best method is: trade for obtain more weapons from start for craft the refined metal in less time right?
thx for your post :D

If you really wanna get started, start by scrap banking. People give you any two weps, you give 'em a scrap. When anyone wants a particular normal weapon they tend to pay a scrap for it. you double your money that way, though very, very slowly. It's a start at least.

yes, this is better but that's based on market price of hats. I mostly mentioned crafting of hats because new people to the economy get to the point with refined metals and then are lost as to what you do with them. The majority of hats out there are only worth 1.33-2 refs, so if you're looking for something specific then trading directly for it is almost always the cheapest option. If you're looking to gamble, then yes, buying 2 hats for 2.66 refs and rebuilding is a better option than crafting from 3 refs.
It's hard to tell you how to go about building your inventory without at least knowing what your motivation is. Are you only idling in hopes of making some extra money for non-TF2 items or do you enjoy the game and want to learn more about the crafting and trading system to get some cool items to show off and actually use?

Can roll over to the next week can't it? dunno, don't do it often.

Quote from Official Wiki:
"On April 20, 2010, the item drop system was changed. Instead of rolling randomly at intervals to see if you got an item drop, now the system rolls to determine when your next item drop will occur. With this change, players are guaranteed to find items at fairly regular intervals. This was made because many players had unlucky streaks, where they didn't find any items for weeks. That isn't possible anymore. The drop rate was also increased, but now players have a limited playtime per week when they can receive drops. Playing beyond that amount won't find any more items, but some of the unused time will rollover to the following week; speaking of that, the item cap resets at Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. pacific standard time(1:00 p.m. GMT)(this test was experimented and needs more input). The current DAILY drop limit is unknown, although it has been speculated among players that the total drop limit PER WEEK is between 8 and 10. (This has not been confirmed by Valve). Also another thing about the current item drop system is that sometimes players will have 'lucky' streaks, whereby they will receive several item finds at once (even up to 6). Unfortunately, this will ultimately mean a reduction in item drops for the remaining gaming time allocated for such item drops. "

your backpack is worth around $2
to get 'good items' u play the game, and trade
check the wiki if u dont know how stuff works in tf2, and search for crafting

Is there any particular reason why most TF2 items are not marketable?
I've done some idling just to try it out and the only things I could sell were chests that were worth a few cents each.
