Hello,

I try not to comment so that I don't gain BL and lower my "resources" but recently I felt the need to let my voice out/vent

There has been (and there will always be) quite a number of discussions that -I really mean no offense- feels like elitism

I'm gonna tell a lame story -my story- first a little quick bg: Egyptian
In Egypt about 3-4 years ago 1$ was worth about 7-8EGP, over a freaking night EGP sunk badly it became 1$=20EGP nowadays it's about 1$=~16EGP
Average Income not great and no way can cover that insane inflation, so the little I could spare before is gone.

So for games my resources this days are: SG, donations from 1 or 2 Steam friends, and Steam community market (a few stable games buy their trading cards with 3c and sell it for a bit higher) doing it manually as there are tons of stories about using bots for this Valve fk them over and in a year I barely make ~ 15$ out of it
so for that little in my Steam Wallet I have to weight how much game time I will get from them (found out it is usually 1$=10hrs) for me

I don't have a visa, there is a chargable 2 years internet visa that I used to issue every now and then and even that I don't have the spare to get one rn.

SG: I only enter my Steam Wishlist GAs, enlisted in the amazing U7(former), PA & PM groups.

There used to be other resources for me but they goes out one by one:

Tremor games was my biggest source used to get TF2 and CSGO keys from their and trade for games ..Steam fked the gifting system so that is gone somewhere down the road... TG diminished with time until fully gone, r.i.p

Ubisoft on Steam gone the days "game standard price drop into 20$ and 75% off that is 5$ baby" and they are not the only ones..

I have a secondary Steam account just the one and god only knows I never used it here on SG, I only created it to get double the trading cards so I can keep up a little in the badge collecting "game"... steam make game given free on it gives no cards.. indiegala stopped giving steam keys going indiegala free whatever... HB free is so scarce now

Epic came it is threatening my ability to buy games with the little I earn through Steam community

TLDR;

Long freaking lame rant I know but the point is:
SG is amazing site, fantastic spirit idea.. I know tons of bots is really bad (some might be for trading cards to help themselves a little also but still having joy by making others miserable is not good).
I truly hope the persons, creators and admins of the site never cave in to -again my deepest apologies I mean no offense- the elitists wishes
I know from experience in real life that the ones will be hurt the most will be the little guys like me

Sorry for the long read and have a good day all

Thank you for sticking your neck out and risking the blacklists! It's always interesting to hear other peoples' situations, it is very easy to become insular and forget others may have very different experiences to oneself. While there are a few that may come across as elitest, there are also those here who are incredibly generous.

Epic came it is threatening my ability to buy games with the little I earn through Steam community

I would have thought that the free games from Epic more than make up from any impact it may have on the Steam economy.

Also I'm envious of your "Avg. Game Completion Rate" - I don't have the time or patience to get anywhere near 92%!

Epic does good with the GA indeed, but my fear as I said weighting the little I can buy with money I can't get out of Steam usually Ubi games is worth it for the gaming time and enjoyable gameplay to me.

That kinda sounds like you are trying to invoke provocation just for the sake of it, often on issues which are already controversial and rarely one-sided (I find the entire term 'SJW' unnecessarily toxic since it usually involves trade-offs between respect and convenience). I don't think it's completely reasonable to compare OP with that (since I don't see any spite or controversy with his post), although I completely agree with your underlying message about speaking your mind, but doing so in a respectful way.

I don't know why you're sweating all of this. If you don't have the money, then don't make giveaways. There's nothing wrong with that.

Anyone who says you need to make giveaways to enter and win a few here on Steamgifts is full of shit, and if they tell you differently, send 'em my way. I'll straighten 'em out, tout suite.

Best of luck and I hope your situation improves.

I see, that you are already a member of PA, but probably Playing Matters would also gladly accept you with your exceptional completion rate.

We all have different reasons for being here, and at least some of us have different expectation, of whom we would like to win the games from us. We also have tools (groups, SG level setting, WL, BL, SGTools) to pretty well manage, who can participate in our GAs. I'm usually not even upset by folks blacklisting me, because I don't really want to get gifts from people, that would be unhappy making them (usually, because if blacklisting player makes like 50 separate entries in a community train, constantly breaking it up for me, then I am getting at least a bit annoyed).

I'm also always a bit amused by folks believing, that only those, that give more, that they receive are "legitimate" SG users... if all of us did so, who would be winning those extra games?

Myself, I also can't afford to spend any serious cash on games, and being into building my game library (as explained here), I mainly buy cheap bundles and try to keep my sent/won ratio about even. It's not, however, what I expect from anyone else to follow. I would never mind a user actually playing and enjoying 50%+ of the games won from me.

My WL is not really large, so I usually don't make WL only GAs. Unfortunately, other setting take precedence over WL setting (mine are usually SG level 2-3, even in group GAs, to weed out bots and card collectors), so you are not likely to see many of my GAs, but if you do and fancy the game, feel warmly welcomed to enter :)

Lootboy Diamond packs & Kinguin Ninja Packs can be a good place for you to get some free games. A lot of the games you can get from these sites also drop cards that you can sell and buy games with. Lootboy also gives steam wallets (very rare). And if you get games that you already own you can make giveaways with them and level up here on SG. Good luck.

I was going to suggest lootboy to you as well. If you look in this thread link, there are codes that you can get for diamonds: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/rSWOI/lootboy-codes-for-coinsdiamonds

When you have saved up 100 diamonds, it is recommended to use them on the Supreme Steam pack because there is a chance to win Steam wallet credit in there. You'll always get a game if you don't get wallet credit. I've gotten a couple of games I've wanted like "State of Mind" and "Fall of Light" but... the ones I don't want, I give to SG community. I think I get enough diamonds for a game every 2 weeks or so.

I have always felt like those discussions are targeted mostly at those users who have 3000 thousand games in inventory , several hundred wins and no sent games.. which shows that money isnt really that much of an issue, so its about attitude.
Personally seeing your profile it doesnt create an impression you would be a leech or whatever so I would suggest not taking something like that personally..

But a serious question I cant get my head around - why do you grind cards etc for hours to buy something on steam ? Why dont you buy 1 dollar tier bundles on humble for example ? Is it due to the exchange rate or not having the visa ? I mean I dont have a visa either, so I just dont really understand what you mean by that. And is 1 dollar that much in your currency that you cant validate buying those bundles ?
I mean I am here studying and doing some part jobs and living without much money as well. But I havent bought anything straight from steam at all (maybe 1 or 2 games which I cant remember).. All my games and sent games come from bundles (mostly first tier)..
So I mean no offense or whatever, I seriously want to know whats the situation regarding buying 1 dollar bundle instead of grinding for 10 hours to get 1 dollar on steam.

Permalink

You need a credit/debit card to buy from those bundle sites. And owning cards are not as common in many places like it is in Western countries. Buying straight from steam with steam wallet is much easier in many countries.

Thanks for the answer. I can see how its not a feasible choice if you simply dont have the card..
I would appreciate if someone could spare some time to explain or give me some resources where I can read about whats the reason behind not having cards easily accessible..

Because I have had my mastercard since I can remember myself and I dont have to pay any fee for it

I can't surely say what's the situation is in Egypt. But in my country (Bangladesh), most jobs still pay you in cash. Unlike in West where you get paid through the banks. So having a bank account is not really a necessity. A huge number of people never even bother to have a bank account. And cash transaction is still the dominant mode of transaction.

Even if you do have a bank account and have debit/credit card you can't make international purchases unless you own a passport (again a huge number of the population never bothers getting a passport because they are very unlikely to ever visit another country). Any international purchases you try to attempt will be blocked unless you have certain paperwork submitted before doing so. The whole system is quite complicated. It is just easier to get steam wallet codes from third-party vendors and buy straight from steam.

Puts things into perspective. Its up to the point for us that almost nothing is done in cash. And its illegal not to have passport and you can be fined for not having it.

Really? Wow. I currently don't have a passport because I was unable to travel for the past while (back injury etc) so never bothered to renew it. It is interesting to hear that it can be illegal not to have one in other countries.

Comment has been collapsed.

There is some kind of rule or something regarding that. We have to have at least one identification document (either passport or ID card but the process is the same and they are interchangeble)
Dont know about specific rules or fines, but I remember when my passport expired I didnt renew it for some 2 or 3 months and I was told that I could get a fine for not renewing it, but got lucky. But that was some three years ago, so things might have changed

I find that interesting.

Earlier this year when I was getting a loan for my surgery, both my driver's license and passport were expired by a few months. I was sick for 2 years, so I couldn't make use of either of them anyway. I just had to go to the police station with 2 passport photos and they gave me a form to fill out. They then attached a photo, signed, stamped it and gave to me. That was basically my temporary ID so I could get a loan. Was no drama surrounding my official IDs being expired. =)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Thats cool that you can do something like that without unnecessary drama.
They even made it illegal to use our drivers licences as identification documents....... I mean its harder to get a drivers licence than to get passport made, but no. If ID is needed I have to have my passport with me. I cant even buy alcohol if they decide to ask for an ID because they cant legally take that as proof of age.
I am glad they created the ID cards, they are at least the size of drivers licence so I can stash it in my wallet. Passport is impractically large.. To trow in bullcrap with documents - We always had to have cars registration with us. But the catch ? They are huge and fragile. After a month after issuing it, the cars documents look like they have went through a war. People asked for the company that issues them to either change the size or issue some kind of protecting case. They just went "uhh..... no"...

So its either fucking it up by taking it always with you or leaving it in the car, so in the case of it being stolen, the thief has all the registration data and my living address.. To end on a happy note - they finally allowed to not take registration documents with you (and drivers licence) if you have an identification document on you (ID card or passport)... previously ? yup, a fine

At this moment Im not even sure if I can go out on the street without ID.. damn, that sounds ridiculous :D

Thank you both for stopping by

Situation in Egypt is very similar cash transaction dominant, having a bank account is not a necessity.
In Egypt though in the last decade the gov started to change how you get paid -in gov and public sectors- from cash in hand to implementing visa cards that you use on ATMs to withdraw your cash.. by default those cards can't be used in online transactions (I'm not even sure if you go to the bank can they "activate" it for online purchases or not but I really know noone willing to risk their life blood like that)

Other cards would be what I said "internet visa" but just to issue this will require equal to ~6$ also every transaction bank takes a %cut ofc won't be big thing for 1$ but:

As I said in OP my biggest source was Tremor Games (closed down at the end of 2018) the $1 bundle games were the easiest and cheapist to get on TG.
I created a profile here 4 years ago but the ~3k entires are 99% done from the start of 2019
Steam card grind, not a big profit but doesn't require a big time either just buy order (5cards each 3c for specific games) there always cards to sell in the account and I don't need to put money into my wallet and also can't take it out of steam... we are talking a few $ and c here
I haven't had a card nofo into my Steam account in years...ofc buy orders have a limit (their total can't exceed 10X what you currently have in Steam Wallet so I have to be mindful of what I'm doing)

We have to "adapt" to the insane inflation all prices has increased equal to it, but I don't want to get into personal stuff ..when I woke up and read the comments on my Steam profile my self esteem is kicking me hard... I'm really thankful to you all but god knows I didn't create this to beg.. I just wanted to show some ppl how it is on the other side.

Well, who would we be if we wouldnt help each other out. Those who have more can help out those who dont have as much. The difference is huge in situations. For example its even hard to imagine how it can be that someone cant even spare 1 dollar for a bundle due to different circumstances while others can just leave monthly subscription going from month to month without worrying whether they even want the games.
So I say be glad that there are people who can and want to offer help. And give it forward when you can. Thats how we make this world a better place

Here in Brazil we use bank accounts all the time to get (monthly) paid, but getting credit cards is an issue. You have to definitely prove you have some income (= no job, no card) and a good financial record in order to get a card. And even if you manage to have a card, most people pay their monthly needs with it, since their income is not enough to buy everything they need (e.g., food). Interest charges are high, so you can imagine they end up with bad credit and having problems with banks all the time, frequently having problems to even make some basic purchases, like a house or a car (a huge need here, since the country is dumbly full of roads only, no other means of transport are available in most cities, and buses are unsafe; plus gasoline is really expensive).
Crisis made finding jobs here very difficult. 1 dollar worths over 4 in local currency. Minimum wage here is around R$950 = US$237. Taxes are really high. Statistics show that if you separated taxes from all other things you pay annually, you work until August just to pay the taxes. They tax everything they can dumbly, because most of things they tax they don't even produce domestically, which makes some taxes really pointless (we're talking about any kind of hardware here, like released games costing around R$ 250, game consoles costing over R$ 2000 and so on). Plus, there are high taxes around international transactions, so even if you have enough credit to buy a digital game, not having enough credit to pay the tax makes you unable to buy it.
In other words, most of times here if you have a credit card, you only use it for your needs (i.e., buying something to give away is a huge no-no for most people with average income, since it's really costly). Steam does sell in local currency, but it's region locked.

Don't let Epic worry you bud, plenty on quality games to win/buy on Steam. And devs regularly do free games on Steam as well (Just the other day Crusader Kings 2 went F2P). Just ignore the "it's another launcher" crowd and you'll be fine. It makes no sense anyway, it's not just another launcher since it affects pricing and I sure am not gonna pay 3-4% more than the US/EU Epic user base to buy the same game (and people say EGS is gonna lower game prices heh).

From my boss I know that the situation in Egypt is one of the worst in the whole World so I feel for you.
I am from Bulgaria and the conversion rate, currency exchange, isn't good either. My situation is very similar and I haven't bought games since 2016 (maybe 1 or 2 maximum), but in your case, the currency difference is like 5 times worse (HUGE).
I also really appreciate the site, but rarely have enough time to play all my wins, to which Im getting and at least doing for my PA wins.
I have also ranted on the matter, but I haven't created a thread myself. I also don't expect any charity, although SG is really close to that if not 100% that.

I am a trader but I don't look at every game like a set amount of cash or anything like that.
I've checked your wishlist, but sadly I don't have any of the games from it, so I cannot give you anything from there.
However, if you like a game from this list, and you will play it, it is yours.

Don't worry about blacklists - my blacklist is absolutely empty, but there are some people who blacklist you whatever you do. I had a fear years back that by speaking up I will get blacklisted to oblivion, especially when I asked for being given a whitelist while I was also looking to create a whitelist... the community wasn't friendly then and laughed at me, but in the future I made a few giveaways with the better titles that I had at the time. Always speak your mind, even if there are haters, nay-sayers and blacklisters.

Sure, my blacklist will keep increasing, as people don't know my story and only look at statistics and ratios. They see I have won more than I have given, but they don't know I enter only for wishlisted games (rarely some games I'll play regardless of wishlsit), they don't know that I save points to enter only for those games and I live in a poor country. They also don't know I have entered more than 65,000 giveaways and only for wishlisted games which almost never fall lower than 10 points, that took effort. And I have also spent days for solving riddles just to enter for a game and many other puzzles on the site so I can get into a GA with less entries. They don't know that in the next 10 years, I have to help my parents with my full salary, so we might just get by, let alone that we don't eat such good food just to have food on the table every day...

But some people just see beyond their limited horizon and I know that they won't see it differently, even if they read what you and I have written here and also might not believe us.

Your stats are admirable, but let's say we look at an example - we both played the Sexy Brutale to completion, but I've spent at least twice more hours in it. That doesn't mean anything of course, everybody plays differently and doesn't mean you haven't enjoyed the game or haven't read everything in it. The point is some people might argue - you have rushed through it or you didn't play enough of it etc. I admire your bravery to have come out and said what you had to say despite some people on the site who blacklist everyone to oblivion...

If I hadn't been so vocal and haven't pent more time on the site, despite the negativity I was met with in the past, I wouldn't have met such wonderful people from here, who keep their word and are good friends. I sometimes forget to say thanks as a comment in giveaways and when I get back to doing so, I find that I am blacklisted and cannot do anything, which is silly.

TL:DR - know that other people are in the same boat or a similar situation as you.
Pick a game from my list above.
And don't forget to never give up, and to keep being brave and vocal despite the blacklisters or whitelist royalists...

P.S. Whitelist royalists are different than normal whitelisters who try to avoid bots, try to find a good home for a game which to be played and also to give to a small group of people, usually friends.

They also don't know I have entered more than 65,000 giveaways and only for wishlisted games

To be honest, that is kind of hard to believe. I mean, I also only enter for wishlisted games or SG recommended games that I think I would like, but it would take me many years (decades?) to get that many entries, and I feel like I have a lot of wishlisted games at ~100. I see 65k entries, and I assume someone is completely indiscriminate with regard to what they enter. How many games do you have on your wishlist?

Your stats are admirable, but let's say we look at an example - we both played the Sexy Brutale to completion, but I've spent at least twice more hours in it. That doesn't mean anything of course, everybody plays differently and doesn't mean you haven't enjoyed the game or haven't read everything in it. The point is some people might argue - you have rushed through it or you didn't play enough of it etc.

I'm really not sure why you felt the need to bring that up. Yes, you spent twice as much time playing the game (or at least with the game open and running), but given that AAMR has a 100% achievement rate just as you do, I don't see why anyone would accuse them of rushing through the game. On the other hand, AAMR has an average achievement rate of 84% and has gotten at least 1 achievement in 91% of their games, while you have an average achievement rate of only 46% and have only gotten at least 1 achievement in 15% of your games, so one could instead accuse you of rushing through your games (lower average achievement rate) and winning games just to collect them and not play them (much lower 1+ achievement rate). Maybe I missed your point, but it seemed like you were needlessly calling AAMR out and inviting an unfavorable comparison. :/

If I hadn't been so vocal and haven't pent more time on the site, despite the negativity I was met with in the past, I wouldn't have met such wonderful people from here, who keep their word and are good friends.

I'm really glad whatever negativity you encountered didn't turn you away, and you were able to meet wonderful people. That's awesome! :)

Whitelist royalists are different than normal whitelisters

What are "whitelist royalists"?

I can screenshot my 65K entries, and I admit the first 2 months here I entered for everything. I had 3,300 but now just over 1,300 games on wishlist. It's like a mania and enter almost every 40 minutes - so many bundles that have games I want to have lately that sometimes I don't even have points to enter for all the giveaways for them...

I brought the Sexy Brutale up as an example - it could have been any other game with any other stats. I am just saying that some people judge because of statistics. And I was in rant mode so I made that too long of a ramble... I see how I could have said that in 1 sentence...

I wasn't calling nobody out, plus that's against the rules here anyway. And yes, I made the mistake to activate every free game given out in Steam as a promotion since 2013, but now I don't activate everything I see. But now I follow my principle from SG for every Steam game.

Yes, and also I learned that even if somebody is negative towards you, that shouldn't make you yourself negative and stop you from talking.

Whitelist royalists is what I call the people who act high and mighty and use whitelists for a similar reason as people blacklisting "everybody" - some make such whitelist giveaways to promote their youtube, twitch or social media and the like and if you are not getting them something in return, you cannot be in the whitelist or kicked out if you break such made-up rules, as far as I remember (from years ago...) I hope they are not around anymore,to be honest.

And wow, 1300? That's a huge wishlist. And I thought my 99 game wishlist was big... ;) And that's down from 3,300? Wow.

Yes, and also I learned that even if somebody is negative towards you, that shouldn't make you yourself negative and stop you from talking.

That's a great mindset to have. Positivity spreads and breeds positivity, and even if you can't change other people's outlooks to be more positive, being more positive yourself will make you happier. :)

True. You have to try to live for yourself more than for others. And like my boss says "In relationship and business relations, everything can be resolved with more talking - if it's not resolved, either you haven't talked enough or the other side doesn't want to talk it out..."

You can change how you think about a subject, but always trying to stay positive helps a ton.

idk, I have almost 10k entries in 1st year on SG, so if I'll continue to spend so much time here, it will be 50k in 5 years. I have 400 games in wl, and 370 games that I track without adding them on wl. Like "looks interesting, but not enough to ended up in my wl". And I don't mind cheap indie games (because sometimes I find gems among them), and there's a lot of them..

Thank you for taking the time :)

For The Sexy Brutale it is actually an interesting case:
You see early this year thanks to SG Discussions there were a post about a site giving Origin Access Basic codes.. I admit even though I didn't like exploiting it I gave in and got me enough codes for a full year of Access Basic.
Now generally I always prefer games with Achievements, so apart from handful of games I was mostly playing through that Access games with Origin Achievements... it has a good number of 3rd party games (games not developed/published by EA) Sexy Brutale was one of those hidden gems that After I played on Origin I added on my Steam Wishlist wanted to be a proud owner of them on my fav platform "Steam".
Exophase a site tracking most of the platforms out there if you use the search on my profile you will see I played it earlier this year on Origin
https://www.exophase.com/user/A_M_R_Egypt/
According to Origin I have 9 hrs there and so that is ~17 hrs twice 100%

Exactly what I was trying to say - people see some statistics and think it's black and white. And also I was just making an example - it could have been any game.

It is fine, and for games as I'm an achievement hunter I usually uninstall them after reaching 100%.. but also sometimes a game capture me for way over that.
A recent example also on Origin Access Basic Vampyr has been added to it a couple of months ago even though it has no Origin Achievements I have about 164 hrs in it.. that game really captivated me :)

Look, I hope you didn't get me wrong, it wasn't a personal attack on you or anything or trying to diminish your credibility in any way - it was a rough example about the logic of some people and how easily they can blacklist you for a silly reason (which in this case isn't even the whole truth as you have shown us).

Thanks for sharing your story. I think people sometimes forget that there are those on here without means, and that your ratio doesn't really mean anything. Is someone who gives away a lot of games and wins a lot of games, but hardly plays any of them, any better than someone who doesn't give away games, but wins few games and plays them all?

I would think that with all the games Epic is giving out, it's more than making up for any possible negative effect it may have on the Steam market (though I'm not sure what the negative effect might be).

I hope you're taking advantage of all the free-to-play games out right now. I feel like while it's never good to be a broke gamer, it's never been a better time than now to be a broke gamer. For example, I was recently looking for games like Slay the Spire, and I found HEX, Card Hunter, MTG Arena, and Hearthstone - all really good and all free to play. I wish I had the time to play all the free games available.

Anyway, good luck, and hope your situation improves in the future. :)

It is a good game, fast paced looter shooter... personally I think what makes it stands out is the fact that you can trade items you earn in-game (with relative ease I might add) with other players for either other in-game items or the premium currency of the game (called Platinum in WF)
So pretty much every thing in the game is accessible to free players, the exception is a few collection of cosmetics (there are tons of those you can get with plat) that are created by the community -Tennogen items- through Steam Workshop those can only be bought directly with real world money and their creators get a cut of them.

Revolut - I use this (app + visa credit card) to buy games as it have muuuuch better currency exchange rates than any bank in the world. Maybe this will help you a bit. Also if you will make friends create an account and use their visa once with a PIN in any shop you will get some free money from the app (also the app and credit card are free).

Also welcome on my WL as you sound like a mature decent human being :)

And about the INSANE INFLATION I have one banknote that says: ONE HUNDRED TRILLION DOLLARS of Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and in the day I bought it you needed 4 of these to buy a bread. Now this one banknote is worth 0.40$.

Zimbabwe got it so hard that now their official curencies are dollars and chinese yuan.

Zimbabwe actually doesnt use money for the most part because of the insane inflation. Nowadays they mostly use their local system for money.

I am from egypt so I understand what you talk about, at first I was only playing free games on steam like paladin, now because of sites like tremor games and steamgifts and generous friends, I have alot of games to play and I stopped worrying about not having games to play. I have alot of free time so I always worried of finishing them all.

I understand you mate as a member from asian countries where the conversion rates sucks. Due to steam gifting policy get a global keys from the website like humble etc is costly that's why i giveaway games from 1 dollar bundles. I too got blacklisted saying that i giveaway 1 dollar bundle to boost my level. I too tried to explain but to no avail then only I realised that there will always be persons finding fault in others even when there isn't. So don't fret about blacklist. Your exceptional completion rate speaks about your gaming passion for that i whitelist you. Remember happiness is not about getting all you want but enjoying what you have. So have a good day.

The people with that kind of mindset are often the ones that speak louder but I really don't think they're the majority of SteamGifters, at least I hope so...
It's nice to share some giveaway if you can but if you can't afford it than you really shouldn't worry about it.
I don't expect people who win my giveaway to have given hundreds of games.
I'm just happy I can share and make people happy and if the game goes to someone who can't afford games for themselves than it's even better. That's the whole spirit of the site!
I hope your situation improve in the future and thanks for being an awesome user ❤️

Entering for games you want to play, and then actually playing them? That's what SG is all about! I would be happy to see you win one of my giveaways.

Please don't let the negative people get to you!

Side note: how are you liking Vampyr on Origin? I downloaded it but I haven't tried it out yet.

Thank you for the kind words :)

Vampyr is great .. the combat is a little rough around the edges, but I love its story .. the interaction with NPCs ...getting to know them their stories and backgrounds.
The game is built in a way that a big source of the xp to level up comes from being a Vampire (sucking NPCs dry,and that kill them on the spot) and the more you know them the more xp you will get if you decide to "embrace" them vampire style.. if you don't the combat will be harder for the fact that you are under-leveled against the enemies you fight.

I find it interesting I invest time knowing the NPCs and earning their trust so I can't get myself to betray them by going vampire on them and combat getting harder so can you restrain yourself or not ...

Side note: Song used in the games cinematic trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlYoZVGGFZg

I've also noticed an increase in somewhat negative post where the poster wishes that people who have gifted less than they have received would get reprimanded somehow. That they would get less points for entering giveaways etc etc. I find it quite disappointing, but fear not there are still plenty of people who gift for giftings sake not so they can gain something themselves. Just enjoy this site and ignore the negative nannies.
