I second this. Extremely low power consumption, cheap price, around $80. after rebate during this season, and great price:power ratio while being able to go full throttle ( for as much as that's worth ) with a budget CPU makes this card a definite looker for someone in your situation.
Either that, or buy a better CPU and then buy another GPU.

you need a CPU not a gpu my friend.. BELIEVE me.. if you get a powerful gpu it will simply bottleneck.. you might gain a bit but.. also the topic title is misleading.. "Best possible GPU for my PC?" and here you say "What about Radeon cards? I've heard they're cheaper." low price + best of dont go together when it comes to gpus

Well, considering he has an underpowered CPU, I don't think he's looking in the 7970 range, or planning on buying a Titan, so I'd say it's probably a pretty appropriate title.

please tell him that cause he called me a troll..

You might need to Upgrade your Psu in order to buy a newer card,
Ive always used Nvidia, and i know you might need at least 650W to juice a more recent model, but ive heard ATI cards consume less, so if u dont wanna spend money in a new PSU aim to buy an ATI card, they usually say how much power they need, check first before buying ;)
Also dont make the mistake to buy a card without knowing if your motherboard supports it! always check the version of the MB slots!

You know, the slots for the cards, or sockets, make sure DDR3 is available,, usually if your MB is recent u wont have a problem, but i expirienced this before, bought a PCI card but had an AGP motherboard :P

I recently Built my current PC, and when buying parts i read somewhere ATI card consume less, and dont even need to have direct PSU cable connected to them,, i dont know if its true, as i always used Nvidia :P
As for the PSU, i wouldnt run a card with its Minimum recommended power, i always tend to have a little more juice, just to make sure ;)

The recommended power is already plenty. If his current PSU can hold out, there's no need to spend more money on a new PSU if all that extra wattage isn't going to be consumed.

The PSU just provides power to the various components. Having a 1000 Watt PSU won't bottleneck your other hardware at all....
However, if your PSU is some unknown brand and not 80+ certified, I would suggest an upgrade to a PSU from a known brand like Corsair or Cooler Master (and one that's at least 80+ bronze).

Thats a fine choice, shame that for a few more €€ u could get GTX650 TI BOOST, but it would require a minimum of 450W,
Normal TI looks Good enough tho :)

Well, then you are good to go :)
later on u can upgrade as you go, as for right now you will be served, just dont aim for AAA titles, next gen games are a bitch :P

You can use this to get a rough idea of relative performance between cards.
And this to get a extimate on total power consumption of your system during games. (yours will actually be lower since the chart is based on a 4core cpu)
In your case I wouldn't go higher than 300W total peak power, since we have no idea how your PSU performs.
Also check the connectors available on your PSU to make sure you have to ones you need to power the card you picked.

Currently the best GPU around is the GTX 780 Ti. It's more powerful than the Titan for 200 USD less, but barely beats the Radeon HD R9 290X which is 150 USD cheaper than the GTX 780 Ti.
If you're looking at price-vs-performance, that would probably be the GTX 760, GTX 670, GTX 770, Radeon HD 7970, Radeon HD 7950, R9 280X, or the GTX 780 (not the Ti), in order from best to worst value. These can all give very high performance in today's highest end games, such as Battlefield 4 and Crysis 3.

I bought a low budget PC two years ago but currently newer games don't run very well on it. The i3 2100 is okay for now I think but GT440 just don't cut it anymore even on low resolutions. Here's my PSU, if you need more info please tell me what else should I post here.
