i am think about buying it at Green Man Gaming it is 50 % off + there is a code with another 30 % off and i also got 4 credit from refering 2 friends + 0.5 from a free game and that gets it down to 4.25 € and i really dont think steam can beat that

so how is it also can i play it without seen the movies first?

you can play it without watching the movies but I think its more enjoyable if you watch the movie first. It's good to see how close the game has imitated the characters in lego LOTR.

But tbh, play only the game w/ a friend or two. It's boring to play LEGO by yourself

Did you just admit to playing the game before seeing the movies, after just asking if it was ok to play the game before seeing the movies?

Either way it doesn't matter. The game so closely emulates the movies that its basically the same thing. Most of the dialogue is even matched word for word.

Well, u don't have to watch the movies, but I think it's better if u know what it is about. The game itself it's good, lot of funny scenes and as stated before you should play it with friend, that is what are these games about imho. :]

I'd get it. I haven't watched any of the movies and have been planning too + I want to read the books. The voice acting was taken straight from the films though, so the story will have small bits cut out but the main parts of the movies will be in there. As a huge Lego games fan I'd recommend it. Plus, it follows Batman 2, so Middle Earth is open for you to explore.

Im surprised theres anyone that hasn't already seen the movies, but yea, you can enjoy the game without watching the movies first. Do watch the movies if you're even remotely interested in similar genre movies they are epic

If you're in US, amazon will have it for 75% off.. I wish I had waited to buy it, but I didn't know something would end up keeping me from playing until recently!

I don't think you have to watch the movies to play but it would be nice. If you like LOTR you'll like the game

Just posting it for people that don't want to go through all that referral process to get it cheaper than Amazon.

The problem wouldn't be playing the game without seeing the movie, but rather seeing the movie after playing the game. I'm assuming the Lego version would just give away the most important scenes, which could ruin such a great trilogy. So i'd really recommend watching the films first.
