C-C-C-Combo Breakers!
for starters.

More in-depth:
Killer Instinct always had it's own unique playstyle, very heavily combo-based with more baiting & punishing than manoeuvering yourself into superior position.

If you mean an announcer saying that phrase outoud, then yes. Otherwise "combo breaker" is standard FG mechanic these days, and is in all 3 mentioned examples of IGAU, SF, and MK.

well. Killer Instinct introduced them, and the way they're handled still varies a lot between games. (Depending on which game you're talking about, it's typically special counters, parries or whatnot that can break combos, not dedicated moves).
Also, in the original KI getting caught with a combo breaker meant taking a lot of damage - made the moves much more vicious than in most other fighting games.

Although now that I'm reading up on things, the new KI seems to handle things very differently from the originals as well.

Ive played this game on the Xbox one of my cousin and sucks big time... i hate the new fighting games that tells you every fucking move in the menu, where is the magic of the older games of guessing the fighters moves and improve by practice? i loved killer instinct in Snes, but this new one is horrible... and the fact that all the fighters arent unlocked yet its pretty boring since you can fight with like 6 characters only...
