Racing games from codemasters are worse and worse... They will never see my money again
Good old times of Colin Mcrae rally are totally away.

Yeah, and what's even worse is that they stopped selling the "good ol' games" that they have like the ToCA series or the CMR series before it became DIRT.

I agree with you, i don't think they will ever release games as good as Colin McRae again, but the Codemasters racing titles are the next best thing on PC gaming...

Really? I dont see a point of these games now. There is rFactor 2, soon there will be Assetto corsa which will be masterpiece, and for casual racers there will be pCars. So what is the point of f1 2013, dirt 4, grid 2, showdown and other "fast made" racing titles by CM? I am really curious

It's the next best thing so far (i think rFactor 2 is still in development). In fall 2013-2014 we will see some good racing games for sure.

They get my money, as long as their games are almost as good (or better) then GRID and DiRT 2

So which one from last 5 years from CM is almost as good or better than GRID, TOCA or Colin Mcrae?

DiRT 2 is enough. After DiRT 3, i wouldn't buy another new DiRT.

DiRT 3 wasent that bad though, Showdown on the other hand.

Showdown wasn't really meant to compete/continue DiRT1/2/3 series. It was intended to be arcady and crash-heavy. Not similar to the rest of the dirt series.

Can't wait! I liked their race games so far.

Dirt 4 would be nice to see. 3 was amazing.

I really enjoyed Dirt 2. Dirt 3 was a little better when it came to the physics of the driving, but I really hated the gymkhana stuff.

While I don't see an actual conformation for Dirt 4, here are my hopes for the game.

A little better physics.

Graphics were pretty decent will be better just because they always get better with time for the most part.

Be able to buy all the DLCs on Steam. I don't have any DLC for dirt 2 or 3 because you had to buy them via Live and I hate live.

Limit pay for DLC to cars and other addons like that. DLC maps or map packs should be free. (keeps people more interested if they have new places to race their friends at)

More cars right from the start. Basically all the cars from Dirt 1, 2 and 3. Maybe limit this for people who own all the games.

More configuration ability for the cars. The options you get just before the run were a little limited. We should also be able to save as many configs as we want.

Better multiplayer. My friends with the 2 games always had issues trying to get a good game going.

All the tracks from Dirt 1, 2 and 3. Maybe limit this for people who own all the games.

Pikes Peak run... I want this in a newer version of the game. I want the whole run from end to end.

Longer tracks. 15 to 30 minute long or more tracks would be great, along with ability

Ability to put 3 or 4 or more tracks in a row to create really long rally runs. If its just limited to one section of the map. If you are in the china area and it has 3 or 4 maps, you can put them end to end and make one longer map that takes like 30 minutes to drive. Be able to flip maps around too so that their ends meet up so that in some cases you can do a map forward then backwards without stopping and loading the maps.

Any weather and day or night for all maps. Even if its a desert map, if I want to see snow with slick roads at night I should be able to see it.

Custom mapping. There are some race games out there that allow people to make some really nice maps (for those games). I would love to see this for the Dirt series.

Better controller support. I heard some people had issues with some of the wheels out there.

Better and longer patch support. I don't remember there being many patches for the game even with some of the issues the game had.

Better handling of the save files. With Dirt 2 and 3 I had some issues with the save files which caused me to loose all the levels at one point and having to start all over again from scratch. Hopefully without Live being in the mix things will be better in general.

A way to save a run at any point and be able to play it back later at any camera angle. This would make things easier to record to video. Keep the controls that allow you to fast forward and rewind a run. Basically have a demo save and playback setup like Valve games have.

Being able to limit who can join a multiplayer game. Anyone, Friends only, only people in a certain steam group. Be able to kick/ban some one too.

Now I know most of these aren't possible, but hey if you don't ask/bug then the ones that can be done won't be brought to their attention. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a few things, but in general thats stuff I'm looking for.

Hmmm.

I actually liked the Gymkhana stuff was a nice time waster... I really enjoyed the joyride parts in d:showdown as well but in that one there was just the Rally missing.

To some of your points: with the new game for sure not being gfwl but probably over Steam like D:Showdown the Multiplayer should get better. Same for the savegames and so on ;)

Using the tracks from prevoius parts is impossible i guess or only to people that own all on steam or linking your gfwl to your steam account and that would probably need some kind of service on gfwl's side which won't exist soon ;)

Last point: the longer tracks. Yeah, that would be kinda cool but i think that would bring them away from the big mass of gamers. That dont want to "waste" 30 minutes if they in the end loose the race because of a late mistake.

When I say use the tracks from the other games, I don't actually mean directly import them. I know thats not possible. But they can rebuild them, for the new game, after all they have all the data. They should also have the copyright for those maps or can get them again so should be able to remake them. It wouldn't need any to do with GFWL, all it would need to see is that you own the game in steam and then give you access to those maps. If you don't, it allows you to buy them as DLC. (though I think all maps should be free)

2 and 3 minute tracks while fun, are over way too quick. This is why I would like to see longer tracks. And I don't think they should have 30 minute long tracks as part of the game, but I think we should be able to "build" them so that we could race on longer tracks with friends or even just by ourselves. 10 and 12 minute tracks as part of the game would be nice though.
