I meant to post this yesterday, but forgot.

Steam link discontinued and they are almost(if not already) sold out

If you were wanting to get one, nows the time to jump on it.

Edit: It's also on sale for 2.50 plus shipping.

Here's the link pun intended

Its hardware is already dated and, although it's useful in some cases where alternatives aren't possible, it has plenty of issues, so their decision doesn't come as a surprise to me.

If you already have a notebook or a windows tablet, you can already replicate the Link's functionality and even more, with a better quality and no hassle without buying another device. For instance, my old Microsoft Surface Pro 2 tablet is capable of 4K output and a quality level far better than the Link could ever dream of. You could argue they're in different price ranges and that's true, but I already had it around so investing in another device that provides a quarter of the quality I'm used to makes no sense to me.

My point is that the same functionality or even significantly better can be obtained with other devices you already have lying around. Thus, buying something different while expecting a worse quality makes no sense and this is probably one of the reasons they decided to discontinue this otherwise interesting little device.

Not sure if it sounds stupid, but how exactly do you do it with your tablet or notebook?

It's a valid question. Valve has a dedicated section for this subject. You can find out more about it here.

As a side note and an alternative, if you have a Raspberry Pi lying around, you can use Moonlight to stream your PC games to it.
