So recently I learned that my gpu broke down and I had to uninstall my video drivers to make my lappy run. Its gonna take some time to get it fixed so I am looking for some GOOD games on steam (or my library) that I can run without installing video drivers.

Games outside of steam would work too as long as they dont require very heavy downloads.

Thanks for suggestions!

(Can I play HL2 or battleblock theatre?)

Well, depends... if you really have no video card then you'll not be able to play most games, maybe some flash games...

Do you have an intel CPU that has an intel GPU in it ?

Goldsource games (HL1, CS1.6, etc) have software render which can run without video drivers, other than that I don't know.

If he didn't have a video card at all then he'd literally not be able to see anything (although I'm really stating the obvious there).

You're not going to be able to play anything without any graphics card drivers installed as Windows will be running via some special VESA compatibility driver that has (as far as I'm aware) no D3D/OGL support.

Your apparent problem though, that your "GPU broke down" and that you uninstalled the graphics drivers doesn't make much sense though to be honest.

Yep that's right, except that it probably has integrated gpu too.
But if you wrote this thread with your laptop, you have video drivers installed, your gpu wouldn't work without it :P

I believe your best option would be to try whatever you think fits. There's always flash games..

2D games will probably run well. I see you have Terraria, I'd also recommend FTL, Hotline Miami, Risk of Rain, Binding of Isaac, South Park The Stick of Truth, and pretty much all the top games here.

I'd suggest trying some GoG games, since they have such small requirements to run anyways. I bet they'd run on your broken laptop, since a lot of them were designed to run on cardboard boxes powered by hamsters.

I would say just go ahead and play internet flash games, trust me some are quite fun. On Steam I would recommend Hotline Miami, Terraria, Super Meat Boy, and pretty much all 2d games on Steam.

If you don't have video drivers, you'll have just black screen :)

Requirements wise you can't get possibly any lower than textadventures. But they can be still pretty good, as I've got some fond memories of A Mind Forever Voyaging for example.
