Dota 2 problem.

Hello everyone

i gave my friend dota2 gift to try the game and he didnt own dota2 before so after that he tried to active the gift and he got a msg like "failed to add game to your library" and then after this msg he found dota2 in his library and the gift still in his inventory.. so he downloaded the game and started to play.. then when he went in the game the "play" button is off.. and all he can do is just "spectator" no idea whats this problem cuz for me it was working fine.. he tried to add the gift again to his library but still the same msg show up.. so hope someone knows whats the problem..
