That game's "RPG" boss battle can probably be counted as straight up torture, one basically needs to be clairvoyant to win it... or use a guide like a sane person. When I reached the final boss and found out that it was a bullet hell section I felt relieved since it's a much more mundane kind of evil than the other random crap the game throws at the player during most levels.
I loved that game tho, even if poor Eryi suffers quite a bit for the sake of our entertainment.
