Got a random key, tried to activate it, already had that game- is the key used?

You can't activate a game you alraeady own.

Not used no, I tried that before. Even try using it again, you should get the same message.

If you are asking whether you used it by trying to activate it - no, you didn't.

But if you are not sure that the key was used before you - there is no way to check it without activating it on an account that doesn't have the game :)

there is no way of telling until someone who does not have the game tries it

the good news though is its not a bogus key

if the person you got it from you can really trust you can give it away

though if the key does not work because it has been used that will not bold well for who won the game,if it is not an expensive game i guess if it does not work you could always buy it

The best is if you create forum topic, and explain that the key may have already been used. Or just make a forum topic without warning, because ninjas probably try to activate it in a milisecond :D
