And that's why you only need like 30 minutes to see what the game's like

I didn't mind it all that much.
Though personally I'd say don't buy it unless you got some loose cash to sling around. This game is very poorly optimized and I feel like it's still in a beta as far as i'm concerned. They're still adding aplenty of new stuff. But that doesn't mean this game is finished and they're giving it more content though. It feels like they need to put another years worth of work in until it's actually something to write home about.

Right, Mount and Blade is waaaay better than Chivalry. I played both of them an M&B is much more fun to play.

Extremely intuitive, well executed attack and blocking system that allows you perfect control without being too complicated to drive away newcomers, with a great sense of physicality. Your weapon immediately becomes a natural extension of your mouse hand. Need I say more? Mind you, much of it is not obvious if you only fight against AI. Visit one of the duel servers and ask for a sparring partner to get started with what it's really about.
Chivalry, being basically CoD without guns, just doesn't appeal to me even remotely in the same way. But, as someone so finely put it, comparison is quite pointless because it's like comparing CoD and Arma. They might look similar at a quick glance, but are completely different and for very different audiences.

I really like it, the deadliest warrior pack is even better.

Definitely yes! Played their previous game Age of Chivalry (it's free mod so you can try it before buying Chivalry) and than Chivalry: MW and I absolutely love it. But Deadliest Warrior addon isn't so great so don't recommend it.
ps Chivalry is way easier than Age of Chivalry

so many bugs, glitches, no proper tutorial etc you name it. you have all the reasons not to buy it. but it's still fun which is the most important element about games. give it a try this weekend.

The combat is too floaty, it feels like melee weapons are made from, and have the weight of light plastic - so I only found range weapons remotely fun, but hit detection can be lousy as well. The rate of these problems are only multiplied when playing "Deadliest Warrior". You should definetely try it this weekend, no better way to decide then by actually playing the game.

I'll take a stab at helping you to decide whether or not you'd like Chivalry.
Chivalry is a beer & pretzels, first-person medieval combat game. It's a romp, similar to how TF2 is a romp. Player experience and skill shows up in which classes you pick at which times and how effective you are at using them. If you have friends to team up with, it's even more fun. If you want a high degree of realism or tactics or even strategy, there are better games out there. If you just want to splatter your opponents head with a two-handed mace, however, Chivalry is priced to move.
