Edit: see spacy1993's post. :D
I've not played CS:GO hardly at all, but from years of playing the old Counter-Strike, and assuming things work pretty much the same, here's a few things:
As a general rule, take the time to aim and use short controlled bursts. Spray-and-pray (usually) just gets you killed.
You buy things at the start of the round. You get money for winning and you keep your weapons and items from the prior round if you survived. Decide quick, and don't linger.
For now, keep playing with bots until you have the hang of the interface. WASD, use/interact, scope, swapping weapons, dropping weapons, and purchasing things.
Headshots are deadly.
Equip the knife (or more specifically, anything other than a gun) to move faster. (Same as Killing Floor and some other older FPS games.)
Use your ears (it's hilarious when people accuse you of wallhacking because you shoot them through a wall by hearing their footsteps).
Some guns shoot through walls.
Dust is probably one of the more popular maps, so learn it well.
Major map modes: hostage rescue, bomb defusal.
You're either a "T" (terrorist) or "CT" (counter-terrorist). Rescue hostages and defuse the bomb if CT, prevent hostages from being taken and plant the bomb (the bomb maps usually have two possible locations) if you're a T.
Once away from bots, hopefully you can find a good server. Any problems with the game in old CS were usually due to people swapping and stacking teams. Good servers have a community that isn't stupid like that and will prefer to have a balanced challenging game rather than one side trying to feel good driving a pack of lions through a preschool.
Again, dunno how much of this really applies to the new one.

Deathmatch is a mode where you able to select any weapon of your choice after you respawn. Those gun in your inventory (USP silencer and M4A1 silencer) is a special skin, which add up silencer for those weapons at the cost of lower ammunition.
(The basic USP and M4A1 have more recoil and more bullets while silencer version aims for accuracy and long range engage combat)
To select, buy gun: Press 'B'
Arms Run are the game mode where you earn new weapon each time you kill, climbing up to a knife kill in order to win.
Death Match: You are divided into two factions: Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist, spawning randomly across the map and kill other faction for point. You win the round by having the highest score. During the round there are frequent bonus weapon countdown where killing with those weapons earn extra score.
Classic: Playing the classic map of counter strike: Hostages rescue or Bomb Defuse.
Demolition: Much like Classic but focus on Bomb Defuse only. All maps are designed so that both faction can rush into the bomb zone at same time. Thus creating a huge gun fight control to win rather than upper tactics.
Competitive: Like Classic but with extra rules. Team fire on, Collision (you can not go through your team mates), extensive long game with Best of 20 rounds, both teams are switched up after 10 rounds.
Game mechanics, except for Arms runs and Death match where money is not needed to obtain guns. Here is how it works
You earn money by winning/losing/killing/rescue hostages/defuse bombs. You loss money by Team mate killing/Killing hostages.
At the beginning of every round, you got a limited time to purchase your weapons, Each faction has some exclusive weapons and the rest are familiar.
-For Counter Terrorist (CT): M4A1 is their signature gun. Good for both long and close range combat with nice stability and low recoil.
-For Terrorist (T); AK47 is their signature gun. Perfect for camping and headshot with the first shot has perfect accuracy.
Bomb defuse: Terrorist win by successfully eliminate other team or bomb explode regardless of remaining team members available. Counter-Terrorist win by eliminate other team or defuse the bomb before it explode.
You run faster by holding lighter weapons with knife giving the fastest speed. Thus this is a critical mechanics for pro team to gain important location for shooting down enemies.
You can walk by holding SHIFT, significantly increase your accuracy with zooming weapon, no foot step. In a competitive game, this is important for not alerting your enemies when you move close in.
Flash bang: blind to anyone that comes in contacts. A must in order to advance through carefully guarded area.
Smoke grenade: For covering your movement through sniper camping zone or preventing enemies to move forward. Also to confuse and hide planted bomb.
Decoil: Creates fake shooting sounds and adding a minimap icon acts as decoil to fool enemy.
Fire grenande: Work much like smoke, but it hurts like hell and has shorter duration. Nearly useless for killing enemies.

If I'm not wrong you can switch in deathmatch from default weapon to random weapon by pressing F1.

you get a weapon. shoot a person get a kill. yay you are going great so far! now you might just get another weapon! Guess what? Shoot the enemy persons! Yay! You just learned how to play csgo

Well, first learn all the controls and get used to them.
Learn which weapons are good for what situations.
Recoil is much more noticeable and large than in shooters like BF3 and COD, so it is recommended to fire in bursts. You can practice your aim with bots.
Headshots kill.
Use sound to your advantage, try to hear footsteps and enemy fire.
Learn the maps and helpful spots in those maps.
It is a team-based game, so try to communicate and call out enemy positions.

I had bought the collection when it was in the summer sale, and these games had idles for WAY too long.I decided to download GO to give it a try.I chose death match, was put in a match with a weak pistol and knife.I discovered that there is no running, aiming(kind of nice change from Battlefield 3) The thing is,I saw M4A1 and Usp in my inventory in game,I do seriously not know how to select em by default.I searched for a manual, none available.I keep getting put in match with bots all the time, and I don't get Jack-shit of what is going on,I get a kill sometimes by fluke and mostly die.Is there any sort of manual or info which I can read to understand the basics of this?
