So I introduced my nephew(NIECE) to the glory of Minecraft videos on YouTube and now she wants to play it ....
Problem is I'm kind of out of cash as usual so I want to try and save qs much as possible on buying it , or this time it's not even noodless for 2 week it will just be air T.T ....
Jokes aside I tried googling some 3rd party resellers but it seems all fishy ....and even tho i love fish that one is the rotten smelly one ...

So question is ,is there a reliable source to try and get the game cheaper ? Or is 20€ cheapest price right now .

Don't think so.
I paid 10$ for the alpha in 2009, but I think 20$ is still a really fair price, considering that it's a fully released game now.
If you don't care about multiplayer, you can always pirate it if you must.

The price increase was really the only time I could believe that someone would be selling legit, uncracked copies below the sale price. I had a friend who bought three copies for 10 dollars each when Minecraft was getting more popular and then sold them for 15-18 dollars after the price went up. Now there's no way that a legitimate reseller could profit off selling Minecraft copies.

To answer Sa6peto's question, I have to say no. I'm pretty sure Mojang(or technically Microsoft now) is the only reliable source of Minecraft copies.

amazon sells legit copies too.
I got the pocket edition for free there.
(technically 6.99 but there was a promo to get a $10 voucher for free 2 months ago)

You're right, but those Amazon copies almost certainly come directly from Mojang. I also should have specified that I was referring to the PC version, not the pocket or Xbox, because 20€ is about what it should cost on PC.

there are 2 pc version. The original java game and the newer windows 10 version.
The win10 version is basically the pocket edition, written in c++ so much faster and better optimized.
Currently the win10 edition doesn't have all the features as the java version(such as mod support) but microsoft want to eventually have parity with the 2 and I believe finally replace the java version.
If you buy the java version($20) then you'll get the win10 for free but I believe the win10 version is $10 if you buy that one alone.

Just pointing this so you know your options

If you got the regular game going but only without the custom map, it won't be any different on a legit version. It gets a bit technical.

I tried to use pirated version first .....like shes 7y old and I just take care of her for a weekend twice a month .... I bet she will get bored of it fast ...
Problem is she wants to play a modpack which only seems to work on curse (cause lewis and sjjn are playing that so I want to play it 2) .. and I spent solid 2 days trying to make that thing work....
I tried so many things it's not even funny....
Went with forge and then adding every single mod 1by1 .... broke the game.
Then I found out I need to use curse to use the modpack ... so I went in and got that ....thing doesn't work with pirates Minecraft.
So I had to go and look for workaround....
Eventually found 1 that did seem to work ...well atleast base Minecraft was starting.
However I couldnt get any modpack to start .

So I went and googled the errors I was getting , had to tweak some Java settings ..even downgraded the version edited some windows Java settings (cause apparently windows was limiting the RAM could use to 512mb)

In the end all I could get was getting to the menu screen , it doesn't work from there .

Went on forums to ask bout the issue , aside from all the flames just got told to not use pirated Minecraft and that it will work if I just use legit copy .

I dont know if you thing can run project ozone2 but if it does id gladly take it....

Well... not sure if it'll work but you can try this:
download modpack from curse and then just copy-paste mods/config etc from curse folder to .minecraft-not-so-legal folder and try to launch it (just change java argument to give Minecraft at least 2GB ram) (Of course don't forget about correct version of forge)

Something is wrong with me. I read your last sentence (many times!) as:

for the record, I bought Microsoft legally last month.

And I was going to follow up on your joke... but... there was no joke, and... er....

Shit, I am getting old.

I pirated minecraft before buying it. You should do the same.
I'll assume your nephew is still young, i dont see a point on buying an original version if he's only going to play Singleplayer. If he really enjoys the game you should buy him as a gift later on :)

Note: There's also plenty of minecraft pirated servers with tons of players.

Rule #1: Never show something to a child unless you have the money on hand to buy it or you will never hear the end of it.

Rule#2: See Rule #1.

If you have Windows 10 there's a version in the Windows Store for $9.99 U.S. I'm not sure if it's available everywhere or not though.

Bought the pocket edition (ie, the android version) to my kid. I'm too lazy to translate curencies but it was 4x cheaper than the desktop version. AND I bought it using credit from that Google Rewards app. So it's a win-win.

A while back somebody was really enthusiastic about selling me a cheap copy of Minecraft. But when I pointed out that according to steamrep.com they were a scammer they told me to kill myself, so I guess I really missed out on that deal...

Might find some inexpensive versions on steam that might be close enough that you can get them without a ton of coin.

I don't use my Minecraft account whatsoever, so if you'd like/have around $4 to spare, I can just give it to you, will provide proof and I'll go 100% first :)
