So, I recently made my first two giveaways and now it seems to be fcked up.

After the giveaway finished, I did send them from my inventory to their email. I controlled it more than once, wanted to be sure that the winners get the right one. I looked in my inventroy and under the two games, the right mail adresses were displayed. So I went to sleep.

Now I looked in my inventory and here in my profile and I'm really confused. Person 1 said she got the giveaway (Overcast), but it is still in my inventory. The one for person 2 (Defy Gravity) is missing. And person 2 did not clicked the giveaway as received. oO WTF is wrong. And steamgifts says that Overcast (9,99$) was gifted.

Something like that once happened to me too. I had a gift copy of Fortix in my inventory and I added it to my library, a few days later when I checked the gift copy is still there, but I still have the game in my library so I thought it was really weird. I gifted the duplicate to my friend and it worked, the Steam servers must be lagging or something at the time

1) The gifts remaining in your inventory might say who they were sent to.
2) The winner of Overcast doesn't have Defy Gravity in either their library or inventory, so that's good I think.
3) Give them some time to activate their gifts and mark as received. It is the holidays and people are busy with their families and what not (doesn't really explain why Overcast marked as received but didn't activate). Then you can talk to each of the winners: make sure they received the correct game, ensure that they activated it, and remind them to mark as received.

P.S. - Thanks for contributing your generosity to the community!

But in my inventory it says Overcast will be sent to Person 1 (to xxxx@gmail.com) ant the copy for person 2 is gone, without him clicking the one as received.

EDIT: Okay, thanks. 7am in the morning here, too early for me :D I'm confused, but I will be patient :) thanks for the answers.

Okay. I wasn't sure if you thought you sent them the wrong ones. Person 2 hopefully just hasn't gotten on SteamGifts to mark it as received. Hopefully he isn't going to take the gift and run. In a few days you can remind him to mark it as received. As for person 1, that is more puzzling but at least he's marked it as received and you get the contributor value for gifting it. If Overcast remains in your inventory after a few days, you can contact him too and remind him to activate it. In summary, patience is key my friend.

Sometimes I worry too much. Especially because this was the first time gifting something here and I didn't want to make something wrong.

I looked, person 2 was last online 8hrs ago. Here and at steam. So I will wait for him to mark it as received.
Person 1 mabe saw she got the gift but had no time to activate it.

I know, but the post above wasn't thought as a reply but as a generell addition of Information :D

Thanks to you :)

Understandable. I still get nervous that someone will take a gift without marking it as received. You can reduce the chances of this by requiring a contributor value to enter. To a lesser extent, making it a private (forum) or group giveaway will help too.

Also, a quick look over your profile indicates that you might do well to read the FAQ. Do not enter to win games multiple times and do not re-gift your wins. Cheers and feel free to ask any questions if you're confused!

I bought those games becaus I got some money left on my steam wallet :D I did not win them here. But I honestly have to say I once entered the same giveaway by accident due to lagging internet and went offline for some days. After going back online I already got the gift in my inventory :(

I was referring to the two Payday 2 soundtracks that you won. Gifts don't just appear in your inventory; you have to accept them. I don't know if there's a way to rectify your mistake now, but in the future return the duplicate copy that you won. The gifter can then ask for a reroll.

I know, but it was in my inventory. Maybe my little brother accepted it. Sometime he loggs into my account on my computer to play games, he hasn't. I think I will just make a giveaway to bring it back to the community :)

While I'd agree that giving it back to the community would be nice, regifting a game you've won is against the rules as well. I honestly don't know what the best course of action is. Maybe give it back to the original owner? Be aware that your account might get temporarily suspended.

I guess the first person marked as received after receiving e-mail but didn't click Add to Inventory or Game Library.
And the second person did accept the gift but didn't mark as received. Can you check if the second person has the game in his inventory or in his games list?

Think so too. The second person activated the gift and added me.
