Why a special group? Mainly because there are still many keys in this thread that were not delivered, but there is some risk that some of them were ninja'd. I want to make sure that if I create giveaways with these keys and they turn out to be used, the winner will agree (in advance) to GA deletion.

A similar need has come up many times in the past, so members are also welcome to create their own GAs for free games. However, to limit the potential load on support I'll include some restrictions to reduce the chances that giveaways need to be deleted. Read carefully before joining!

GA creators: GAs for this group must not be shared with other groups or your whitelist (as I can't enforce the rules by kicking non-members). If the key you give doesn't work, you need to provide another one. If you can't provide another, the winner is still obligated to agree to GA deletion, but this is counted as a strike against you. 3 strikes and you're out of the group. After every 30 successful GAs, a strike is cleared (at least in principle, I'll need to remember to do this manually).
GA joiners: If the key you get doesn't work, let the GA creator know and give them a chance to provide another key. If they can't, you're obligated to agree to GA deletion. If you don't agree to GA deletion even once, you're out of the group.

Note that it's up to GA winners to let me know that a GA they won was deleted because the key wasn't good. I have no other way to know about it, so please report when this happens.

Anyone, including Level 0 users can join, and there is absolutely no obligation to create GAs. There are however a few requirements to join the group:

  • Clean profile: No unactivated wins, no trade bans, not on my blacklist
  • If your ratio is worse than 0.2 (i.e. you won at least 5 times more than you gave), you need to have at least 10% of your wins (for games with achievements) played. Trying to cheat will result in a permanent ban from joining the group.

Note: Due to a Valve policy change inviting users to the group is more complex than I'd want it to be. If you're dedicated enough to go through the following steps, you earned it ;-)

Here's what you need to do to join the group:

  1. Check the above requirements, and if you meet them go here and agree to the terms
  2. You'll get a URL to an SGTools filter (this is used to enforce the clean profile requirements). Click Check Requirements and then Get Giveaway link to get a link to the an invite-only GA
  3. Leave a comment in this GA with your Steam user name, then follow the link in the GA description and click the Request to Join button

I check pending requests every few days, so be patient. Requests from users who didn't go through the first two steps will be denied.

There are currently 74 active giveaways with an average number of entries of 6. If anyone feels unlucky, you won't get much better odds than this :-)

Update: Due to Valve policy change it's no longer possible to invite non-friends to one's group, so I'm not going to send out more invites for the time being. Unfortunately befriending every new member for this purpose is not a viable option for me.**

maybe add some group officers who have time and free friend slots to manage invites if you cannot do it? Just a suggestion ;)

What a pity I sent a request a while ago because I had a Shadow Warrior copy about to expire. Thanks anyway, the group is an excellent idea.

Invites are back, though with a somewhat complex process. However, since the group doesn't require members to contribute and doesn't have a minimum level requirements I think it's a small price to pay ;-)

Unfortunately you don't meet the second requirement, but this is something that can easily be fixed by either giving or playing a few games. See OP for details.
