Depends on the game. Some games, vsync is necessary because they tear too much otherwise, other games it increases input lag to an unbearable state and I need to keep it off.
Personally I game on a 120hz monitor most of the time, keep everything fast paced there. It's usually only the bad ports that have a limited frame rate that I have to turn vsync on.

I like to V-Sync because there is no need to output more frames than your monitor can display, more to the point, why would you want to? I like this discussion by the way.

Just a question for you guys, doy you turn on the VSync when you're playing a game? Or do you turn it off and does it help you in any way? :)
