After finishing RE4 then Revelations, i jumped to Revelations 2. Soon after, game told me i can't play anymore and i must buy remaining 4 episodes to continue. I had no idea. Why is it presented as a full game but not episode 1/0 or just demo?
edit: After that, i am kind of disgusted by Capcom titles. I think i didn't play any since.

I am shamefully naive about region locking, it turns out. Can somebody help me out? I accidentally bough the UK bundle rather than the US one. (I'm in London for business and wasn't thinking about it.) I sent a gift link to someone in the US and got an error. Are US buyers locked out?
(I've gotten bundle bits from EU traders/sellers many times, so it never even occurred to me that there might be trouble.)

The guy who claimed the gift could not activate the key. The error came from Steam: "Not Available. Sorry, but the following items are not available for purchase in this country. Your purchase has been cancelled."

On second thought, I'm still confused. I activated a couple of these games on my American Steam profile without a problem. Is that because I'm in the UE right now, or is something else going on?

The region locks are decided based on the IP used when you purchase - in your case it's UK.
UK customers receive ROW keys for some of these games - which means that your friend from USA can activate them (or you, with a USA Steam account).
However, it can be that for some of these games UK gets region locked keys, in which case your friend can't activate them.
Officially, there is no region information available for these games - when it comes to Humble Bundle, they publish region locks information very rarely and the notification you get upon creating a gift link does not reflect the actual region lock of the key you get.
The region locks listed in the OP are the closest to what people get, but in the case of this bundle some of the info is incomplete. Capcom region locks are extremely difficult to figure out, there are a massive amount of packages available and some have a very weird mix of countries. No one reported any subs so far, therefore I can't know for sure what each region gets (and I don't have the means to buy 4-5 bundles from different regions in order to test the keys and extract the correct subs).
It would help to know at least what game your friend tried to activate - that would tell us that there are different regions locks for US and UK and maybe based on that we could identify the correct packages. Knowing the Sub IDs would be great, if your friend has ASF (or I can try the keys as long as they are already redeemed).

Most of the times, US and EU receive region-free keys (and that's why you can activate a EU-purchased key on your USA Steam account) but there are quite a lot of times when they receive different packages. Before trading / gifting, it's good to check the region info that I try to compile in the OP for every Humble Bundle thread, since that list is probably the most complete one (it does take around 2h to figure out the subs though).

Thanks so much for the info. The game is Resident Evil Revelation 2 (complete). I'm afraid I don't have that further information.
I did notice that this is the only game above that doesn't clearly say I'll get an ROW key. But, also, SteamDB says that all of these can't be sold or traded out of their region (and Humble did not mention that at all). So I'm confused as to what to believe.

For Resident Evil Revelations 2 Complete Season we have on the one hand the RU/CIS package and on the other hand the pair of subs "can activate only in North America + South America + some Asian countries" (this sub) and "can activate everywhere (including RU/CIS) apart from "North America + South America + some Asian countries" (this sub). Since you probably get the latter one (basically ROW without NA / SA / Asia), your friend / your own account can't activate it.
Always trust what SteamDB says, never trust fully what Humble says about your key in the gift link notification :)
But from the pile of packages that exist on SteamDB, we have to identify for which one the publisher sends keys for and for what regions (it can also be that for a specific region, a locked package exists on SteamDB but instead, the publisher decides to send keys for a ROW package for that region).

I can confirm, keys bought in UK are region locked (not sure exactly where, but it doesn't work in US and India). I too bought this bundle using UK VPN and i can't activate this key in India. Do request that trader to not sell/retrade this key and tell him you were not aware about region lock.

Can someone help me out here. Tonight I played a RE demo for the first time in my life. (RE 2). It's quite fun so this bundle looks very interesting as I don't have any of them. Not too sure about tier 3 though. The RE game in tier 3 seems older than the ones in tier 2. Not interested in any other game in tier 3. What do you suggest?

I don't know about the newer remakes but be aware that Resident Evil games prior to RE4 were more traditional survival horror and from fixed camera positions rather than the third-person over-the-shoulder games that focused more on action/shooting, so there was a bit of a change in the formula.

Well I WAS going to splurge and get the $20 tier, but I just found out that I am one of those being on layoff this coming Sunday. Well at least I still have a few months on my HB classic plan and have it on auto renewal.
