Day 2 Morning:
Flew from Tokyo Haneda to Takamatsu in the early morning. If you fly domestic on ANA, I recommend getting the ANA Special Beef Consomme. I have no idea why it's on the drink menu, but it's quite good.

After checking into the airbnb, we started off at Ritsurin Garden. Nice place, very pretty. You can pay extra to be paddled around on the lake. They also have a waterfall with operational hours. Interesting... I guess they turn off the pump at night. But in the distant past, did that mean this waterfall was hand pumped?

Lunch was niku udon at 味庄 - Kagawa Prefecture is famous for Sanuki Udon, the most recognizable form of udon outside of Japan. Strangely enough, I felt that fresh udon doesn't have the chew of packaged udon. Still good though.

Maybe the beef consomme is on the drinks menu because it's considered a soup and comes in a cup?

Are you going to get any Japanese Kit Kat flavors while you're there?

Japan really made Kit Kats into a big business - and they're also super expensive. 800 yen for 8 mini bars? Who can afford that? :P

I always only buy the bagged ones that are quite a bit cheaper. I got some chestnut flavor ones this time, which are really nasty. I do not recommend them!

Japanese food is probably my favorite, with Chinese coming in second.

Oh, who am I kidding? I just enjoy eating, period. P

Man made waterfall?

Found this from someones blog.

Tumbling down the Red Cliff is the Basin and Pipe waterfall (Oketoi no Taki) – so named because it is man-made. Water used to be carried up to the top of the cliff in basins whenever the daimyo passed by on a stroll. These days it flows constantly, fed by a pump.

I wonder how much water they carried up and what it looked like when they released it. I was imagining it had a natural spring that did not produce enough water to run all the time so they blocked it off to fill up and released it when the guy they wanted to impress was there. I was not thinking they took water up to the top and let it go.

Thats actually kinda impressive. Crazy. But Impressive.
