They're mostly useful if you were planning to buy something anyway. You can't reduce the cost to zero. If you don't really need anything, they're worthless.

Unless they changed it you can reduce cost to zero. I've placed 4-5 orders and not paid a penny out of my pocket.

The cheapest thing I found was a mouse, and it went from ridiculously overpriced to just kind of expensive, but wouldn't let me lower it further. The rewards also vary by region.

If they're expiring, and you can get something for free, might as well get it. That wasn't possible when I looked a few weeks ago.

Not unless you are into overpriced stuff and already have a lot of money saved up for it. They won't give you big discounts.
I think they have special programs where 2500 points is 35 euros on the French site if you buy some expensive laptops but generally you need 1000 points for 10 euros so that's 70 bucks more or less for you I guess. They have accessories and console games in those prices.

This being said, there is a "game" page on the Dell website where you can convert your "unused points" into game tokens (they're really simple game like scratch or puzzles) to try and win a big bundle of points (like 100K points) so that's one way to try and make use of those points before they expire. You might get lucky and get some real discount.

you can opt out of dell rewards (darp) if you dont want to collect those.
https://www.dell.com/myaccount/en-uk/account-settings/manage-communications -> dell rewards -> opt out

then you get only arp which you can exchange for games in the game vault

I think if you created your account after October 2022 you can't opt out.
I read that in the FAQ at some point but I'm not sure if that means you win less ARP

You sure about that? It says 'If you do not wish to receive the marketing emails, opt out here. You will still receive your points notifications.' which means they let you opt out of receiving marketing emails, but you will still get the reward points.

If you're into it, they sell PS4/5 and Switch physical games and Xbox download codes. Other than that, you'd need to want computer parts or accessories.

I used them to buy a 4060 Ti for $12 out of pocket; I'm about to "buy" a current-gen 2 TB M.2 drive for free. I've also won a keyboard, mouse, headset bundle from one of their streamers. And I've bought generous amounts of Xbox live gift codes from them in the past

And that's just the Dell rewards. I use the Arena Rewards Points to purchase game keys which I give away here, since I'm poor and it's realistically the only way I'm going to ever contribute nice keys to SteamGifts.

If anyone here isn't on Arena, I'll personally help you get set up and optimized to farm.

If you're willing to put time and effort into farming points there, then I think it's probably the best gaming company loyalty program out there. Worst case, you get some great game keys for free every now and then.

You can definitely choose your level of time/effort involvement, and there are lots of different ways to get points (daily check in, steam quests, Twitch viewing, Discord, mini games, etc.).

Gimme a shout on Steam if that sounds up your alley!

7000 dell rewards points means $70. you can use it on anything sold on dell.com and as long as you don't go over the amount of dell dollars you have, you don't pay anything at all. my biggest purchase so far was a steelseries arctis nova 7 headset. also picked up a backlit logitech keyboard, logitech webcam, two pair of jbl bluetooth headphones for my kids, a few tplink kasa smart plugs (no longer sold there), a chromecast, and a usb key. i've been doing this a while. currently saving up points to get a new mouse for my laptop, but they drastically reduced the rate at which they hand out dell rewards points -- they used to give me about 5000 each month!

Do you have 7000 points on AWA called ARP or do you have 7000 DRP (dell reward points), those are very different. ARP can be used to get stuff from the marketplace or a free game once a month when they open the game vault (you can only get 1/month, click on the game to see how much it will cost). You have to be waiting for the game vault to open though because certain games will go out of stock very quick. Other than games, the only thing I would buy from the marketplace is things in the "Artifacts and Fragments" section that can help you gain more points quicker, or buying DRP from the "Dell Rewards" section. DRP can be converted directly into money and spent on Dell's website. It has to be converted in blocks of 1000 DRP for $10.

Their prices are often very high, but they will price match major sites like Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. You need to make sure on sites like Amazon or Newegg that the item is sold by the main site and not a 3rd party seller. They will not price match 3rd party sellers. They will also not price match special flash deals like Black Friday sales. I have never done a price match, but I believe you need to contact their customer service and provide them with a link to the item on another site. They have a chat you can use. I talked to them once through it and realized it would not make a connection because I had my browser privacy and security set to "strict" and had to reduce it down to standard. It probably requires 3rd party cookies.

I have been using the site for years not knowing any of this and just grabbing some free games that they offered. I recently realized this and managed to save up enough points to get a 27" 1440p 165hz monitor (Dell G2724D) without paying a penny. I think everything ships for free and I used my points to cover the complete cost of the product and sales tax. Then I grabbed a Steelseries qck mousepad (free again) because I had some money expiring and it was only like $9.

AWA points never expire, but DRP and money on Dell's website does. For people in the US, DRP will expire on the 15th day of the 4th month from the month you obtain it. If you convert it into money on Dell's website, that will extend that expiration another 4 months from when you convert it. If you sign into Dell's website, it will tell you when the soonest points and money are expiring.

Also, buying $50 DRP with points from the Dell Rewards section resets 4 times per year. It used to be $100 twice a year, but they just changed it Feb 1st and didn't announce it, so I missed out on $50. It will reset so you can buy another $50 on Feb 1, May 1, Aug 1, and Nov 1.

So, if you have 7000 DRP, you may be able to convert that into money on Dell's site and keep saving for another 4 months to get something more expensive. Maybe look for a mouse, keyboard, NVME SSD, large HDD for storage, or a wireless gaming controller. I need a new GPU, but they are all way too expensive, so I am trying to save as much as possible, then price match it down and put my points towards that. $600 for a mid range GPU is crazy, but I won't feel as bad if I can get it down to $400, even though that is still higher than it should be.

As Germany was adopted into the illustrious circle of countries receiving DRP I looked for offers to spend on Dell's site but alas, you can only reduce buying price of computers and I didn't see any components or accessories to spend DRP on.

It says computers on their price matching page, but I contacted them through their customer service chat and the person did say that they will price match a GPU. I am not sure if that person was right though. This could also vary based on country.

Also, the points and money expire in the US after 4 months, but I think in some countries you can keep storing points as long as you are not inactive for a year, so you may be able to keep storing up more points until you have enough to get something more expensive. I am not sure if the points expire for Germany.

Edit: It's possible that you may have less products to choose from as well. I don't know if they sell the same stuff to every country or if I might have more to choose from because I am in the US. Did you mean that you didn't see any components or accessories that you are interested in or that you don't see any at all for sale? I can see dozens of mice and keyboards from Logitech, Steelseries, and Dell, as well as popular brands of things like flash drives, NVME drives, HDD, Xbox and Playstation consoles and controllers, racing wheels and pedals, headphones, gaming chairs. It seems like they only work with a few companies, so they don't have a lot of different options. I also don't like searching their site, it can be hard to find what I am looking for.

Update: I just price matched and purchased a 4070 super. I also took a little over $200 more off by using the Dell rewards I have been collecting.

For Germany DRP expire too so you can't stack them to any significant amount and your order volume has to be 100 Euro minimum so it's nigh impossible to get anything for free. I'm aware of Dell selling a lot more stuff in the US but these interesting gizmos aren't available here unfortunately.

That is unfortunate. Do your points expire after 4 months like it does in the US? Maybe you can extend that to around 8 months by saving for 4 months and then convert it to money on Dell's site before it expires. Then you should have another 4 months before that money on Dell's site expires so you can keep collecting more.

I guess it doesn't matter though if there is nothing you can find to buy.

Buyable DRP (for ARP) is now refreshed every three months. Buy the DRP just before and after the refresh, convert to Dell Cash just before the DRP expire, and that will last long enough to buy a third time. That will be $150 worth just from buying with ARP, and there will also be the random DRP awarded from the odd AWA quest.

Yeah, that's what I am doing now, I just wasn't sure if the 4 month expiration is the same for Germany. Unfortunately I didn't know they were switching to every 3 months and I missed the previous $50 because it just reset on Feb 1st. I was going to wait as long as possible before buying it so I can keep it longer before it expires just incase I don't use it soon.

There was also a lot of extra DRP being given out for some time last year. I don't remember how long it lasted, but they were giving it out just as a reward on the calendar after visiting the site for a certain number of days and they also had an Intel event where they gave I think $5 every day for 2 weeks. I don't remember the exact details, but it was something like that. I managed to save enough to cover my monitor which was about $290 after tax.

I was going to try to get as much as I could to put towards a GPU and estimated that I could get $300 by buying the DRP just before and after it reset to get $200 and then holding that till it reset in 6 months to get another $100. Then the monthly calendar DRP on top of that would have brought it up to $510 total. That didn't last long though. They removed the calendar DRP completely and also changed the amount you can buy to $50 every 3 months, so that isn't going to happen anymore.

I think they cut the amount of DRP down drastically after there was a glitch on the site that let people basically mine an infinite amount of it and some people managed to get thousands of dollars worth and they spent it. I think Dell shipped those items and let them keep them, but then drastically cut back the DRP for some reason. I don't know if they had a budget or something and needed to cut back. I think they should have just canceled those peoples orders instead. There is probably talk about it on their Discord, but I don't use Discord and have no plans to.

Yeah man, that's usually the way, isn't it? Some sweet system gets massively abused by a few douchebags or scammers and then we all get screwed out of the regular stuff.
I'll still give it a go though, I can probably get a few things with a discount. I'm not looking to buy the big dollar merch.

There is probably talk about it on their Discord, but I don't use Discord and have no plans to.

Haha, I have tried and tried but I can't get into it. It's like old school IRC but way too chaotic and attention grabbing for me. It's like trying to have a conversation with someone in the middle of the playground of a school for kids with ADHD, while surrounded by tv screens blaring commercials all day long.

Paid about 8$ for a "Dell 27 Gaming Monitor - G2724D" with this in Nov last year.

I had always ignored the Dell reward points (DRP). Saw a sale as one of my monitors was dying and took a look. Converted a bunch and it was $330 off my bill. The monitor was already $80 off due to a sale. I paid aprox $8 for it on my credit card.

I see you can convert ARP to dell points as well. I've never done that. From looking at it, I should have been doling that last year as they are not worth as much now as then. I've only used APR for the game vault and the artifacts that help get more ARP.

In canada the DRP are good for a year from when you get more. (i think its the 15th of the month that you last get points in) So as long as Alienware gives me points every once in awhile they wont expire.

I got 500 DRP today from the new axe minigame.
I read from comments not to press the controller to see how to play as its a bug that reset it and you did not get to play for any rewards.
So I kept losing for a few rounds till I figured out your not supposed to hit the shields with the skulls. lol. I wanted my ARP but was happily surprised when I got DRP.

edit.
500 DRP converts to $5 dell dollars you can use against a dell purchase.

currently can exchange once until the next refresh.
1200 ARP = 2000 DRP
1700 ARP = 3000 DRP

I'm not sure what they used to be. Just a general sense from partially remembered reading that they were better before or perhaps it was there was more available.
