Actually, I regularly buy slightly expired food and it's still perfectly edible. A few days later should be all fine. In this case, in appears that some developers revoked keys before the announced deadline, which is particularly low.
Imagine that, it's the weekend, it's New Years' Eve, and yet some douchebags are hard at work to make sure they revoke their keys so right on time that they end up revoking them early.

idk, if you wanna get technical some places already had Jan 1st by the time this was posted. Arguably not the UK, which was the focus of the bundle, so it still seems like a dick move to revoke before they had 2023 incoming, but yeah.
Agreed on food lasting beyond the Best before date though. So much food gets thrown out despite being perfectly edible. :(

Yeah what a waste :/ I'm always shocked when I hear figures about how many tons of food are thrown away in my country per year. I'm like where does this come from, I never throw away any food myself :s

It's mainly the stuff that gets sorted out during the whole "harvest/production -> transport/logistics -> (whole)sale" process because it is too small or doesn't look perfect or the (projected) expiry date is too close. And of course there's all kinds of restaurants and other (fast) food places that need to have big enough stocks to satisfy all their customers and on bad days they have to throw away a lot (and probably even some on good days).
The whole system is flawed because it's so big and global. The only thing you can do as a customer is trying to buy stuff that is locally/regionally sourced and buying stuff that is not looking perfect or is close to (actual) expiry as long as it's still edible.
But even then... as long as you ever buy anything at a supermarket or go eat at any kind of restaurant/food place or get a food delivery, you're also a (tiny) part of that system and some food has been thrown away in order to provide you with other food. We are all together responsible, even if just a little. :/

I don't even disagree, because you're right. Especially on suspicioususly early key expirations - not like anything would happen if it was done on Jan. 2nd.
However, it still strikes me as silly to act angry after failing to listen to a warning that was present in multiple places
